i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

ugggh, I hate when I do stupid things like that. On my last History 1302 exam, I changed 5 answers like an idiot. I would have had all 5 of them correct. Had I not second guessed myself, I would have made a 96, instead of an 86 on the exam, and would have made an A in the class. :angryfire

There are tons of people out there who would be jumping for joy for a B lol. We are so hard on ourselves us nursing students!

Is anyone else as excited as I am about Funnie getting her acceptance packet?? You know you can always come to me with questions.

Thanks!!!! I hope so! :D

It's always harder to get a B when you know it's from stupid mistakes, or changing your answers. :uhoh3:

Good luck with the job apps and/or summer classes everyone!

So, no regrets from anyone? Harder than expected or about what you expected? I know the M. professor is one that is recommended, PLEASE do share any other tidbits you feel led to. :lol2:

I am taking patho and pharm over the summer also. That's awesome Brianna that you can work there. I have applied at Parkland, Charlton Methodist, and Baylor for a job as a nurse tech. I am hoping I will hear something. I just want to work the weekends though. I am so ready to quit this job during the weekday mess. It's hard....

Our midterm evaluations were on Tuesday and I got a good evaluation so that made me happy! I was really nervous about it! :uhoh3:

Now on to Fluids and Electrolytes!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH :uhoh21:

Good luck with the jobs apps!! I had an internship at Charlton Methodist when I was in high school, and I loved working there! Is Lyda Kelly still the clinical coordinator? She is awesome!!! I hope I get the job at Arlington Memorial too... I work during the week and it's very hard sometimes. I have to turn in my grades before they can officially extend a job offer.

I had my midterm evaluation today, and I didn't even know that we had one!!! Thank the Lord that I got a really good review... I was wondering why my instructor was asking me all of these questions!!!

I'm not looking forward to Fluids and Electrolytes either..:uhoh3:

Allison, Brianna what unit do you want to work?

I am thinking about asking our med-surg NM at PHD about summer externships. Every clinical day I find myself being excited going to the unit. So it looks like I would enjoy working med-surg. :)

This week we (El Centro and TWU students) had a lunch with some NMs from different units (ER, Critical care, operating room, L&D, float pool). Everybody talked about his unit and about their internships. I guess we will be interested in that next year... :)

I also wanted to ask you how much you walk during your clinical. Yesterday I had to transfer a pt to another building and take another pt to another floor to visit friends. My sole hurts. Do your legs and feet ever hurts?

Katie, are you wearing support hose? I've read really good support hose helps your legs not hurt so much.

I wear support socks (knee high) because one of my classmate told me that she is itching at various places :) after wearing hose for 8 hours.

Hmmm....maybe I should buy a pair and try them at home before getting stuck with them on in clinicals. lol

I want to work in any acute care area at Arlington Memorial... I'm thinking about NICU. Do you guys have to turn in your grades before you can start? I'm so anxious and ready to leave my current position!!! I've already interviewed with the assistant director of human resources and I will have to interview with the NM for whatever dept I choose in May. The assistant director told me that I would start June 11 or June 25. I can't wait!!!

My feet always hurt... and I have excellent shoes!!!! I hardly ever sit down during clinicals though.

I'm always hot when I'm at clinicals, so I know I couldn't wear support hose!!!!

Nerves? I think that'd be the only reason I'd be hot. I'm usually freezing in hospitals.

I'm always hot no matter where I am or what I'm doing.
