Hey everyone :)

Whew- this has been a tough week. This is a hard schedule to adjust to. My connection to my internet has been so far and few between that I haven't been able to post on here. There is just so much information to pilfer through that I spend hours every night trying to get it all together into something that makes sense.

Katie, I am so happy for you and the math test! I wish I had had some notes to give to you for the class but we didn't receive any in class. She pretty much taught us what we needed to know and then we took the test. It was nice to have it out of the way. We don't do our hospital orientation until the 6th week or something. We definitely need to exchange notes to see if we're on the same page as y'all are and vice versa. Has it been a crazy week for you too?

Fun, when will you hear about your acceptance? There have been two people already who dropped out of EC. I don't know about NL. I think that's so unfair to those who didn't get in because those spots could have been filled but I guess things come up at the last minute for people....I hope we don't lose any more!!!

The mailout deadline is April 15th. I haven't even applied yet, though, so no countdown yet. lol

I have to wait until the Algebra grade is posted to get a new transcript. :uhoh3:

Yeah, it's sad that they don't call people in. I'm sure there's a way to catch up during the first week. Oh well.....everyone that is suppose to get in, will when the time is right. :)

(Sad to say, but I'm thinking those people probably knew something was up b/4 they started if they dropped w/i the first week.) :o

Specializes in ante/postpartum, baby RN.

We still have 50 people in our class. I know because we have exactly 50 chairs in the room, and every one of them is taken.

At El Centro, are you all in the same clinical group?

Our lab class is canceled today, because the water main break at North Lake. I guess our next week shedule will change.

Funny, you are going to apply with perfect grades/credit hours, aren't you? :) Good Luck.

Thanks. :)

You're probably right, Funny. They probably knew that it was something they didn't want to do. I don't know why they accepted their spots...ARGH that makes me mad :angryfire Good luck to you though! You have to start the countdown soon! I will be on the lookout for it!

Katie, we are all in different clinical groups. I think there are 5 groups of 10. But there are two groups who have 9. We all have lecture together but that's it. AND the lecture teacher that everyone swears to stay away from is not that bad. I think she just has high expectations and that's it. Of course, it was only the first day but she really didn't seem that bad. Someone in our class actually asked her if she is really as bad as everyone says she is :rotfl: That's what I call guts....

That's funny that your water main broke in your first week b/c that happened at EC a couple of semesters ago hahaha. I think it's students doing it!!!!! just kidding...

Also, have any of you checked out that MedsPub website? I think it's an awesome site. I have been toying around with it the last couple of hours and I think there's lots of valuable and helpful info on there.....

Hey Christy - are you around? There were some people I couldn't hear when she was going around the room yesterday so I wasn't sure if you were in there. :(

How are you liking everything?

Hello everyone. Just wanted to tell you all that I passed the HESI exam a while back and am officially DONE with EL Centro FOREVER :rotfl:

I wanted to wish you all good luck! Have a great first semester!

Shelley

Congrats!! That is great news! We was up there on a Saturday taking a Keys to Success class and we saw some people taking the HESI and there were tons of people who came out crying. Made us really freak out! Now I am really scared of that test!

Shelley that is such great news! I am so happy for you! Do you have a job lined up?

Do "they" really want El Centro students as much as all of the teachers claim? I've often wondered if we're as wanted as much as we're told haha.

sunshelley, good luck on the NCLEX and your future career! :)

I'm still here and loving it. I tried to listen for ya'll during lecture. There were so many of us stuffed in that room I couldn't see everyone that was speaking.

There are only 9 in our clinical. The instructor said they would probably fill the spot next week, if at all. We all really love our instructor. As far as lecture goes, I agree that it wasn't as bad as everyone said. I feel alot better going into week 2. Now, if I can manage to finish all of my reading, writing, and charts, etc... I'll be set! I usually get to lecture really early so I'll keep looking for everyone. Good luck!
