i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

We were going to go to Mississippi this summer, but it doesn't look like our schedules can be arranged....

Kirsten had a tonsillectomy, Alan's work, Kirsten's drill team practice, etc.....

Oh well...at least I'm not taking a class this summer like I have non-stop since Nov 2004. ha (Sad, huh....and only coming out with a ADN? That's ok, at least I'm getting it paid for.)

I can't wait to start toward my BSN...providing I can make it through the ADN. If not, then I will get be a B in some other field. haha

I think you and I have the same kind of summer. I was hoping for an extern ship, didn't get that, tried for a nurse tech position in a hospital at the beginning, than my in-laws needed help. So I gave up on that.

I thought I get to take a vacation this summer, but it doesn't look like I get to do that either, my husband's job is killing him, lol. At least I went to Fredericksburg, TX, for a couple of days. I was homesick for my homeland Germany. I had to see a little bit of German culture:lol2:. Oh and I cleaned my house real good. Hmm,lets see , now I will buckle down and get back to the books :uhoh3:.

There is a good German and a great Austrian restaurants in Plano. Do you know them? They have great menus. Katie

There are 29 people in my class. :uhoh21: I just started practicing NCLEX questions about 2 weeks ago... so I would say take a NCLEX book! We have orientation at the VA on July 30th!?!? :uhoh3: Oh and the first test is over Cancer.. Psych is like the 3rd test.

Do you have clinicals at VA? I was told that we all meet at ECC for orientation at the end of August. Katie

I just got back from DC today (1 week there). Prepare to walk your legs completely off! They have subways, but they don't have stops at everything, so you still wind up walking very long distances....and they aren't too keen about public restrooms along the "mall" where the monuments are. But, it was fun....and we saw lots of wonderful things...you'll enjoy it! Have fun!

I visited DC last year and I walked a lot, too. It's fun but this time I need to take my tennis shoes to prevent blisters. I can't wait to get there. :lol2: Katie

Why do universities change their prereqs? UTA wants a technical writing class instead of speech and TWU wants a general math class instead of algebra. Any other changes? :uhoh3: Katie

No, I don't know of German restaurants in Plano. I know only of Kuby's on Snyderplaza near SMU. Where are they in Plano?

I have Psych clinicals at the VA... I don't know where I'll have my preceptorship at yet. I have orientation for 4th semester on 8/2

Ok so.... I had orientation today, talk about overwhelming!!! :uhoh3: When do you guys have orientation??? I started Psych last week and I'll be finished next week. I guess I just don't know where to start! :uhoh21: I think that the Management class will be pretty helpful, but it just seems like we are doing so many things at the same time... If I added the days correctly, I will have to be with my preceptor 2 days a week in order to be finished in a timely manner! Well I guess that's it for now.. Sorry about my ramblings...

What did you find overwhelming? Our orientation is on 27th at ECC. I know that our psych clinical will be 4 days only.
