Is everyone's schedule posted yet?

Nope. We are not even registered for lecture. I hope they won't forget that there is a class still waiting for the fall schedule. :uhoh3:

Yes tell us more, I wasn't aware that it is ongoing, I thought it was only for the summer. How many hours will you have to work once school starts again.

I think you have to work something like 8 hours a pay period to maintain the extern position. I will definitely let y'all know when they are hiring again. It's a great experience but I think it depends on which floor you're on. One of my friends who works on a med-surg floor says that they send the PCT home when she comes in so she just does tech work without learning much. Thankfully, the ICU doesn't treat sweetstil and me that way! And there are plenty of other floors where I have heard the externs are learning more than they are working as techs....all depends on where you are...

There's a jobfair coming up this week if anyone is interested. I am going to find out about Internships....

Thanks Allison,

for the info. At the bottom is a link to a registration form, which let's you put in your info with resume. Are you filling that in, or are you just going to the fair and then apply to the hospitals you choose yourself? Do you have to register to attend , do you think? I'm so new at this:uhoh3:,don't shoot me,lol.

LOL! You're too funny!

I did register because I wasn't sure if I had to or not. I did submit my resume along with registration. I have been to job fairs before without registering and they had a register booth set up when I got there. Surely it's set up the same way this time. They can't honestly expect everyone to register but then again this one seems different. I think the only advantage to registering is getting your resume out there

How far back are y'all putting youre resume? Only nursing school, clinicals and most recent job? All jobs since high school? Only clinicals?

It's completely irrelevant but I put my recent job at the law firm for job history mainly to show that I stayed there for 4 years showing my dedication or whatever. I didn't add any jobs before that....I don't know what the etiquette on that is either. I do add a "skills" section where I list all of the skills I perform in clinicals which may sound cheesey but I don't know what else to put???

That's my problem. My CMA days were over 10 years ago now. My most recent job was working at the high school were I graduated from. I worked with students in the ESL dept.

Other than temp jobs now and then when I got bored, I pretty much was a stay-at-home mom for most of post high school life.

I really don't think putting my CMA is *that* relevent because it's been so long, and did not contain any hospital experience. However, I think it shows a definite desire to stay in the medical field.

:trout: ...so lost... Ok, I know there has to be RN nurse recruiters around AllNurses.com, what do we do to try to get jobs?
