i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

I'm looking for help....I got Branscome to post a schedule of sorts for 2nd semester, but it just has general topics. Does anyone have an old blueprint or anything for second semester? I know it won't be exact, but it will act as a guide at least.

we didn't get any blueprints either and all I have is a schedule with topics on it. I'm assuming that's what you got, too. How about this Reading list. It might help you some.

Thank you, yes! it will help. I started trying to go and match chapters last night, but there are bits about alot of stuff in various chapters. It's much easier to just have a list!

how is or was, the externship, I haven't heard anything? Did you all like it? What did you all learn?

We're still in the externship until graduation. It has been an amazing experience in the ICU. All of the nurses are HAPPY and NICE and so VERY HELPFUL! It's a very different experience from clinicals. I have learned more in the past 3 weeks then I have in the past 3 semesters of nursing school! It has been busy working full time and taking this night class so I haven't posted in a while.

Is everyone's schedule posted yet?

How many hours are required during the semester on the externships? Didn't someone say they hire more around September?

Yes tell us more, I wasn't aware that it is ongoing, I thought it was only for the summer. How many hours will you have to work once school starts again.

The externship is wonderful. I have a lot more confidence when dealing with patients and being in the hospital setting. You also get to actually put it all together, not just skills but the whole role of the nurse. In clinicals I feel like the instructors are "babysitting" us so much and here we have a lot more freedom. Even little things like messing with the IV pumps and the pulse ox monitors helps.

I highly recommed applying. I think they are hiring more in December.
