i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Basically day one was going over hospital policies and departments and benefits. Day two was check offs and they showed us how to use their glucometers. Day three involved learning how to use their comp system. I asked about our scrubs and was told any were okay however there has been some talk about switching to solids, so if you buy any new ones I would just buy solid colors. We cannot give medication of any kind including topical, hanging ivs, or admin oxygen. You can start ivs if you have already checked off on it in school but only insert it. You cannot hang or spike any iv fluid. Hope this helps.
That's sounds pretty cool... How were the check-offs? I always get nervous!
**** Dumb question alert: ****
Do we have to pay for parking when we work?
Do we pay for parking when we go for our physical? I wasn't sure if we were supposed to park in that same *free* parking lot we did for the open house or what? My physical is June 5th.
I'm such a toad about paying for parking. Going to the ECC campus really pushed me over the edge on that

No you just go to the same parking lot and tell them you are there for a physical. The first day of orientation, you park in visitors parking and take your ticket to be validated. They will tell you more about where you park and when on your first day.
Summer school starts today. Yipee! NOT! I'm taking Statistics summer 1 and Chemistry1411 summer 2. Anyone else taking anything? That will be the absolute last thing for me to successfully transfer for BSN. WAHOO!!! Finally!!!! ... well except for graduating in December :)
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

Hi Classmate. :monkeydance:
I am taking chemi1411 starting today at Brookhaven and nutrition online/NLC. Wow, you are going to be busy taking classes and working at the hospital, too. Good luck.

WAHOO Katie! Sounds like you're going to be busy taking 2 summer courses at the same time! One is enough for me!
Good luck in your courses! Are you taking Nutrition with Manness? She's awesome. She's who I took for Nutrition online.
