i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
HAHAHAHA! That's funny how our way of thinking changes into nursing for everything!
WOAH! Katie- that is one long Chem class! Mine will be from noon-4pm summer 2. I know it's the same hours but going into the evening, I would be falling asleep. I can barely stay awake with my class that ends at 1940 hehehe.
Jaxia- Good luck on your first exam!!!
I had check-offs today for the externship and the Nurse liason for the ER Internship told me to come and see her in September to apply!!! OMG... I was soooo nervous... she asked me why didn't I interview at the open house, and I told her that there were just too many people wanting ER, so I didn't think that my chances were great. I couldn't believe that she knew that I didn't interview?!?!? So I guess I should apply for both departments and see what happens??? Allison, she said that all December grads should apply by September to get the "early-bird" deal....
lol....Now there's an option!
Many of my class don't have there schedules posted yet either. I'm not really sure what's going on, but I hope I graduate before they totally run out of instructors!!!!
Here's an option: ALL lectures can be online/DVD, that way ALL instructors can have 10 students each day in a clinical or all day skills labs. :balloons:
Could you imagine being an instructor and having to be at a different hospital every day of the week with 10 different students each day? :chuckle
Am I still a nursing student?![]()
I still don't have a fall schedule and I have started worrying.
I am thinking if they can't find instructors they should let us graduate after 3 semester. :roll (Just kidding.)

Do you have a schedule yet? I think they ARE having instructor issues for 4th semester....well for all semesters, but especially 4th.
Makes me a little scared!
Funny isn't the word I'd use...I'm sorry, that sucks! Do they just not have enough instructors for the number of students for 4th semester? Maybe that's why they try to flunk so many out in the early ones...lol. Keep us posted on what's happening. I'd be going crazy..Yang
They told all of us "freshman" not to expect our schedule until Aug 22nd. Don't know if that's normal or not??
Word on the street is that the instructor that teaches at the VA for first semester clinicals is leaving...

I am taking nutrition with a Dr. I. from NLC. This is the same online nutrition class that you all took. I am ahead of schedule so I don't worry about that class.
Now chemistry. Our schedule is a bit insane. We start the class at 1730 and go until about 2030, 4x a week lecture and labs, too. Quizzes everyday and tests weekly. Fortunately it ends in 4 weeks
.
By the way, I was doing some review questions for my first nutrition class and found an interesting one. As I remember the question was something like this: What is the most serious consequence of vomiting?
What would you answer?
I put aspiration pneumonia.
Then I started thinking and realized that for nutrition purposes it's probably dehydration. And it was dehydration, indeed. You have to think nutrition.
