i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Do all of y'all do clinicals 2 x week?Do y'all care for the same patients both days?
Give meds without the instructors around?
Thanks for the info.
I have clinicals 2 times a week but I know some people who have 1 shift for 12 hours. I take care of the same patients each day. I have 3 patients and I do everything without my instructor around unless there's something she wants to see us do like foley or sterile dressing change. All PO and SQ meds I give on my own. There's an amazing amout of responsibility in 3rd sem at least with my instructor. It took me a long time to get used to this way of doing clinicals because I've never had so much "freedom" .. .I love it though and I'm thankful my instructor pushes me to do so much.
well guys, I had my surgery yesterday, I went home the same day. Now I am hoping that I am quick to recover, I will not have clinicals next week, so I should be ok. Pray for me , everyone:bugeyes: . I have lab Tuesday and lecture Wednesday, I also signed up for a couple of practice times for the skills test. I hope I have the strength for all of this.
Good job everyone on your tests!!!

Yep, freedom and responsibility. We have 3 pt going up to 4 soon. We are having them for 2 days, and we can do a lot of things alone but I always double check med dosages, injections, etc with either an RN or a classmate. And I don't have to do mini careplans since my midterm evaluation. :roll
