One more question...What do you guys wear to skill lab? I'm reading the handbook and thinking it must be sorely outdated. It talks about wearing white dresses and hose to clinical for women???? Wow. Anyways, is there any guidelines about acceptable attire in skills lab?

Kathy

Sorry, I can't help with Kenora. Try to call other administrators at ECC, too. By the way, I think it's very cool that you are teaching A&P.

In skills lab we would wear confortable street clothes or any scrubs. I guess it's also depends on what your skills instructor wants.

Thanks so much Mysterious One! I was up there today, but only copied down the first 3 days...I was upset and just wanted to get home. I appreciate your scanning it and posting it!

Thanks,

Hey Katie,

I started teaching it last semester, just for some extra money. I've really enjoyed it and would love to continue teaching, even after getting my RN. It also keeps me really fresh. Last semester I taught SCIT 1407, but this semester I'm teaching 1408. I don't think Kanora was trying to be rude or hateful, but she just wouldn't say anything else, and I don't see how someone could just not think it's important enough to at least present to the Dean. Have a great night.

I feel so behind.... I haven't done anything all week related to school!!! I took my transcript to ECC yesterday and finally got registered. My instructor posted an outline, so if you guys want it, I will email to y'all. I know I'm going to have to brush up on my A&P for the cardiac stuff! There's alot of resources on ecampus this time...

Did you guys buy the Iggy book? I thought the tests are coming from Lewis?

Thanks anyway. :)

Katie

Edit: I have the blood tranfusion doc. on my eCampus if anyone interested...

Can you send me the blood transfusion info?

Yes, I did.

From what I heard the lecture tests are coming from the Iggy book. Also, the syllabus shows the Iggy book as our med-surg book and not the Lewis book.

Brie, Allison, have you heard anything from 4th semster students?

I am really upset about that because THR isn't giving us the Iggy book, only the incoming students get it. I just don't think it's fair if that's where the tests are coming from. How much is that book? Do you think it's better than Lewis?

I talked to Mrs. Elhert at ECC yesterday and she said that 3rd isn't that bad and most people have difficulty in 2nd. I sent my friend in 4th semester an email today to get some dirt. I'll let y'all know..

From what I have heard, true or not, the 3rd semester students at NLC got tested from Iggy and Lewis.

Fair? Nope.

I guess you can log onto evolve and sign up for the Iggy resources and Lewis resources in order to answer Iggy and Lewis questions.

Good luck!

I have the Iggy book and like it better than the Lewis book. When I updated my Evolve CDs 2nd semester, I gained access to med-surg from Iggy, Swearingen and Lewis. I use all 3.

Well, good news! Kanora called me today and amazingly, she was going through her desk and found my signed waiver! Imagine that! Especially since she told me she hadn't had a chance to give it to the Dean yet??? Oh well, I'm just grateful we got word before the semester started. Deep breath.....and move on....lol

Kathy

On a Saturday? I wasn't aware that the Health Occupations office was open on Saturdays. Kind of makes you wonder, huh? That might have been why she didn't say anythng the other day. I'm just glad that you got the word.

I don't think they are open on Saturday, and I'm sure she has tons of stuff to do before the semester starts, but El Centro staff in general doesn't treat students worth a crap. There is no reason something like that should take that long....these are people's lives they are dealing with, not just pieces of paper. It's frustrating, but I am just grateful at this point.

Take it easy!
