i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Did you guys notice we're using a different MedSurg book than what we used in 1st semester? I didn't buy the book pack so maybe it's in there but I was just looking in the syllabus and saw a different book. I went ahead and bought that book off of half.com and have already sold my old one! :monkeydance:
Do you mean the Iggy book?
Do you know what floor you will be on? I am sure you will enjoy that hospital.
I don't have info on my clinical group, yet.

Yeah- the Iggy book. I have been meaning to buy it anyway because I've heard how good it is so I'm glad we'll be using it!
We will be in 3W cardiac/observation and 8E med/surg
Our major care plans are due March 7th and Pharm is March 5th! That should be way fun!
I just read through our packet the teacher sent out and it says our IV seminar will be January 23rd.
That's our day, too.Do you have the IV seminar packet? If so, would you please send it to me. Thanks,
Katie
Katie,
This is the only information that was given to me. We haven't received anything else
V/ seminar: Skills lab @ ECC 1/23/07, 0830-1530. Review IV starts, IVPB, blood transfusion prior to skills lab. On E-campus review the document Blood Transfusion Module under course documents. Also in the computer lab there is a practice module, blood practice, on PAR. The password is practice. This is a module with questions.

Edit: I have the blood tranfusion doc. on my eCampus if anyone interested...
Ok ladies, I need some advice. Has anyone out there had to deal with Kanora much up at ECC? I'm having a very frustrating issue with her, and I don't even start classes until Tuesday. Would she be a bad one to piss off? I submitted a request for waiver on the A & P II (mine is 11 years old) back November 29. I'm requesting a waiver because I'm teaching the Saturday section of it at Brookhaven this semester. It seems stupid to me to take the class while I'm teaching it. She has never gotten back to me, I've e-mailed and called, and never gotten a response. I went up there Dec. 19, and she said she didn't have it back yet. So, I was up there today checking the schedule and stopped in and asked and she got all huffy with me and looked at me incredibly rudely and said, "I have your stuff, I told you I'd call you when I got it back and I just haven't had a chance to drop it off to the dean yet." I was so shocked, all I could say was that I need to know whether to register for the class or not and since school was starting Tuesday, that I was trying to get it done quickly. She wouldn't say anything else and just stared at me. I really wanted to go off. Any advice as to how influential she is in the program???:smiley_ab

We were told that we would find out in our clinical about the IV seminar. We were just told that our clinical group starts this Tuesday
We have a 2 hour orientation and then we immediately start on the floor! ACK! I'm nervous! I was looking forward to another week as we were told we wouldn't have clinicals the first week....but maybe this means we will end sooner! Our final evaluations will be on April 10 so maybe we'll get out before then?? We don't have anything on ecampus yet.......
