i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
I just got back from Body Worlds and it was sooo cool. I definitely recommend the audio to follow along. I didn't get the audio because I thought it would just say the same thing it said in the text next to the bodies but there was more on the audio from what other people told me. It's only $4 for the audio and next time I go- I am buying it.
I thought it was a good exhibit but I kept having to remind myself that it's geared toward a very general audience. I just stopped reading the text eventually because it just said everything we all already know from A&P. I wish there would have been a tad more info but it was still fascinating to see. I hope everyone gets to go! It's on display until May 28th and you can buy the tickets online through the Science Place website. They're only $13. I don't really recommend the IMAX showing of the Human Body because it was just facts we all already know about the human body. You can go if you want though- my mom thought it was very interesting but she doesn't know a whole lot about how the body works so it was informational for her....I was kind of zoning :roll
Thanks for the review!Does anyone use a clipboard with storage? If so, do you have one with a handle? With a calculator? Do you recommend it? Thanks!
I actually purchased one for 2nd semester that had a handle and calculator. The extra storage space came in handy because we had A LOT more paperwork than in 1st semester. One of my instructors actually recommended we all buy one and I saw many students with them.
In my opinion, it's a good idea for 2nd semester but you don't really need one for 1st. During 1st semester, I had the SNA clip board with all the "cheat sheet" info and a calculator but no storage. I didn't really need that much either. I ended up just using the calculator a couple of times because the calculations are so basic.

Let me know when you go next time. I asked some non-nursing people to join me but they were not interested. I will ask some classmates in January to go with me to the museum.

Wow- it sounds like you are going to have a very busy week! Then before you know it- school will start up again. I hope you do take some time for yourself during those last few days before school starts back up.
How did you know when your orientation was? Do you know if El Centro has one? I think I missed something
We still don't have our clinicals posted yet!
