Hi all,
I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.
Hey question so the paper we have to sign for the acceptance has to b turned in by oct 30. if were taking it in person are we just dropping it in the mail slot in an envolope like we did our applications. Or do we have to give it to the admissons lady. I tried calling yesterday but no one answerd the phone.
I really want to know what the schedule will look like, I work full time and I dont think being in nursing school will allow me to work full time. I know I have to stay within a certain amount of hours at work in order to keep my benefits, hoping I can still work enough hours to keep all my benefits for me and my daughter.
Idk until November 25th maybe current nursing students can shine some light?
What I did personally was go to econnect and browsed the credit classes for the 1st semester of our program (RNSG courses) for this Fall semester and see how their schedule looked like. Looks like we will be doing 6 or 12hr clinicals once a week depending on what hospital or instructor. For the other classes I'm not sure I checked like 3mths ago, but I would definitely browse Fall 2014 RNSG classes to get a feel for what to expect when we start Spring 2015.

Congrats to everyone who got in! I'm in first semester at Northlake right now and it is quite the ride. What everyone has said about it being unorganized is true! You guys will sign up for Clinicals at Orientation and that will determine what days you have Skills Labs, but it's typically 2 days a week about 6 hours long. There's a few days that you have to come all day from 8-5. Lecture and 2 other classes happen all on one day every week from 9-2 pm.
For example, this has been my typical schedule: Monday Skills 8-1:15
Tuesday Clinical 6:30-5 pm
Wed Lecture 9-2 pm
Thurs Skills 8-:1:15
Friday: OFF!!! :)
Some of my classmates have Skills on Fri and Sat but you won't know be able to really know your schedule until the first week or so. There's also been a very high amount of turnover with teachers, many retiring/leaving at the end of this semester, so just a heads up, it will be a roller coaster in the beginning. Hope this helps and again CONGRATS!!!! Nursing school is fun!

Congratulations! Which hospital do you work with? I was also accepted for the partnership program with Methodist Hospital. How many points did you get in with?
