Hello, I know this is going up kind of early but i was wondering if anyone else was applying to the nursing program at el centro for fall 2016, if i am not mistaken , the deadline is some where in november to January. How many points will you guys have by the time you apply?

That's awesome! I wish, I could have but I was too late to register cause I am a transfer student. How was it?
It was great. This fall semester was my first at El Centro. I have been going to Collin College. All of my classes were online except HPRS 1204 we had to meet once a week. I really liked 1204 you learn basic health care terminology, vital signs, things of that nature. I enjoyed it. HPRS 1202 is similar to a health class. My only complaint was with 1202 we had to do 15 hour of community service. I wasn't thrilled about having to pay someone to watch my kid while I do community service. I already have to pay for someone to watch him while I'm at work and school. It was just really hard for me. I have a lot going on. No worries though I made it through. You got to do what you got to do, right. :)
Hi! I'm in 3rd semester ECC program and I would suggest not taking Micro or A&P or really any other course other than what you're taking for nursing school. I can barely keep up with the studying, assignments, etc. I work FT and have a 4 yr old and 2.5 yr old.
As for the degree from UTA that she was talking about in 2 semesters, that is the RN-BSN bridge program. You need to be finished with the ADN already and there are some pre-reqs for that as well (the classes you can take for extra points on your application at ECC). The RN-BSN bridge is all online so that's nice. The information is on their website.
I know it's a long wait to find out but the time will fly, especially once you get in! I can't believe next month I will be starting my last semester! If you have any more questions, I can try to answer. Good luck everyone and I hope some of that info is a little helpful.

That is awesome!! I am envious! Wish I was in 3rd semester of nursing. How's nursing at el centro? I am thinking of applying to the north lake campus though, have you heard about how is it like there?
I wish the best of luck to you, and please do pray for us to get into the program!! =)

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. If you can do it with two kids I can do it with one!!! I too will have to work during the program and wonder if I will be able to keep up. Hearing that you are making it and in your 3rd semester is so encouraging!

You will be in this position before you know it! It flies by! It's really busy and be prepared for lots of last minute changes. They're technically the same program but I really don't know how it actually is for them. Thank you! Good luck!

No problem! I'm not going to pretend it has been easy but it will be worth it in the end. You can do it!
