El Centro/ Northlake Nursing Spring 2014

Hello all! I'm new here and have not seen a post for El Centro spring 2014. I was originally planning to apply for fall 2014, however I just heard that the point system and prerequisites have been revised! Now I will be able to apply for this spring! I don't know if I will get in, but its worth a shot! Anyone else applying for spring 2014?

My doctor in(Precision Family Medicine) Carrollton assured me he'd get the flu vaccine by the last week in August. That means I'm turning my application in very close to the deadline.

Walgreens! I drive past one yesterday and there were signs ALL over the outside of the store advertising their flu shots.

I have called a few walgreens and none of them have it yet.

The one I drove by yesterday was off Glade Rd in Euless/Colleyville

I'm also a patient at Precision Family in Carrollton. Small world! Good to know the flu shots will be available before the end of the month. My physical is scheduled for the 20th so maybe I can get the flu shot knocked out at the same time. I also recently took the HESI and did not do as well as I should have in vocabulary. Hopefully I can increase my score on the 24th.

Where are you taking your HESI??? I also wanted to retake mine but the slots are full at El Centro testing center. I looked into another place, a prometric testing center, but the cost is like 85 bucks!!

Per the El Centro website, you can send an email to [email protected] and see if they have any spots that are not listed on the calendar. That is how I was able to retest as all the regular spots were full. I found it so much easier to retake close together because I was able to retain so much more of what I studied. I didn't do as well when I tested months apart! Hope this helps.

Wow, very small world. I'm going to change that post because I just called and they informed me they are expecting a delay and are still hoping for the last week in August but they are now guaranteeing it by the first week in September. I am officially nervous but if its meant to be, it will be. Good luck on the Hesi I'm making my "final" attempt on the 23rd, depending on whether or not I get the flu vaccine.

Yes, definitely send an email to the 5tests address. I'm scheduled for the 24th. Maybe I will check with El Centro regarding the date of the flu vaccine. I would assume if we make it to the interview phase and have our vaccine, we should be fine. Surely they realize that most offices don't receive them until late fall.
