El Centro/ Northlake Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello all! I'm new here and have not seen a post for El Centro spring 2014. I was originally planning to apply for fall 2014, however I just heard that the point system and prerequisites have been revised! Now I will be able to apply for this spring! I don't know if I will get in, but its worth a shot! Anyone else applying for spring 2014?

I applied fo r spring 2014 with 25 points an d di dnt g et in. I'm going to reaply but th e highest ill have will be 28 points (including classes that i take over winter break)

I could have had 30 point s but hprs 1202 got fille d up before 8am th is morning. wh en i went to register at midnight on the 19 i read online t hat i co ul d re gis ter only at 8am. by 7:45 when i woke up th ere were no more available spots. I guess it did open on midni g ht. if i had known i wouldve been up all night trying to secure my spot.

I g ot 6 points on my hesi. I plan on retaking it jan25 but im not sure how much better ill do. Im so read y t o throw in the towel at this point

Whatever you do, don't throw in the towel just yet. There are a bunch or quizlets on the HESI that will help. From what I have seen on this DB, 28 points is competitive. Keep retrying and apply to more than one school if it's feasible for you travel wise. I almost missed out on 1202. Registration wasn't open at midnight. I checked at 6:30 this morning and it would not let me register. The website read 8am however, when I looked at the classes I placed in my plan again at 7am, I saw some were taken and jumped on it! I just hope I can deal with the short semester. I understand what HPRS 1202 is, but do we really have to do community service?

28 points would have been good but im expecting that the cutoff will be higher than 27 points this time. I do hope that I do better but I want to get atleast 30-31 points. I wish I could apply to different schools but I have an autistic sister that I look after and staying close to home is my only option. this is my second try to get in the program. I only have micro left to take then I'm done. I don't really know what to do. hprs 1202 would've gotten me in the program. I was so mad (still am) when I was not able to register at midnight and then when I came back around 7:30 it was all full. this really just ruined my day.

I didn't know hprs 1202 required community service until earlier today. Im sure your teacher will give you some ideas:)

Hey! For anyone who is applying for the fall, I started a new thread for us to stay in touch and motivate each other!

Here it is..

https://allnurses.com/texas-nursing/el-centro-northlake-889392.html

I don't want a bachelors in nursing I just want my associates but I have a lot of classes towards my bachelors done already because I have a bachelors in business management, but I still will only land at 24 points over at el centro and I refuse to take any more classes and spend more money, so the best fit and where I can get in with a lot of points and be really close to having all the points I need will be over at a school called trinity valley so I am leaning in that direction. but I will still try to apply at elcentro with just 24 points even though I know that wont be enough its worth a shot. but elcentros new point system is wack. to many class requirements trinity valleys point system seems to be much better. the only thing bad I see about trinity valley so far is the long drive all the way to kaufman or Terrell or where ever its at...

You need to know that most hospitals are now requiring their nurses to have a bachelors degree.

I gave up my spot so hopefully one of y'all got it!

@ abenton111 I have a bachelors degree in busin. mngt. already. that's why I only want my associates degree in RN.

congrats to those who got in! I'm reapplying for fall. if you have any study guides for the hesi that particularly helped you on the anatomy section could you please send them to me?

my email is [email protected]

I would also like study guides/tips for hesi

Hey, Im applying for fall 2014.

I was wondering if for the point system they count classes that you are in the process of completing when you apply, or do they have to already be completed?

For example I will be taking some classes Spring 2014, will those be considered towards my points for Fall 2014 admissions? Or only the ones completed before I apply.

They have to be completed :/

:( so frustrating.. okay thank you
