El Centro/ Northlake Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello all! I'm new here and have not seen a post for El Centro spring 2014. I was originally planning to apply for fall 2014, however I just heard that the point system and prerequisites have been revised! Now I will be able to apply for this spring! I don't know if I will get in, but its worth a shot! Anyone else applying for spring 2014?

misabui-any info you can give us as far as what the average points accepted were???

When do the acceptance/denial letters usually go out?

Hey PD82, I believe you guys are going off a new point system? But the lowest point that got in for the Fall was 21 (and that is out of the 30 point scale).

Brittany! I think for the spring it was October 31- first week of november!

Omg that's soooo long away!

So is it what you expected to be?

It is such a waiting game now!! :-(

I applied to El Centro and WC, but found out yesterday that I did not get accepted at WC because my points were not competitive enough for the 25 slots they had open. I hope for more of a chance at El Centro, but after yesterday I am looking into my Plan B in case I dont get accepted. I have even been considering going for my LVN and then doing a bridge later, but I know in my heart I will not be happy until I get my RN. I like working at hospitals and most of them dont hire lvn's anymore, including where I work now as a PCT.

Keep your head up everyone! We will all get our golden opportunity soon!! :D

Brittany,

They changed their curriculum this fall. So we're the first class to go through this change, therefore it's a little disorganized but I still feel like it's what I expect it to be. I get excited every week for classes lol.

@pd by wc do you mean west coast? I wouldn't trust going to that if it is west coast. I did a lot of research on that school and something did not add up. Plus it was like 12 thousand a semester

How many points do you have??? At least you have a plan B but you should just stay positive! That's what I'm trying to do. And I'm currently looking for a pct hospital job in the Dallas area...no luck so far

@misabui I can't wait! Seems so exciting...are any of your classmates writing blogs?? It would be nice to have something to keep us occupied while we play this dreadful waiting game lol

Lol I don't think any of them are. We are too busy with nursing school with all the readings and homework ... But if I find somebody that does ill let you know .

Misabui- wc/weather ford college. They have a very small spring acceptance so I knew it would be tough. Heck no I wouldn't go to a for profit school like west coast, my best friend started going there for her BSN because it isn't competitive to get in. Her tuition was something like 85000!!! Crazy!

Brittneyh-I recommend Texas health resources hospitals!! The pay is better than parkland or Methodist (I've been offered jobs at both,so I know) and they have good tuition reimbursement. That's just my opinion ;)

...since the point system has been changed, I really hope that not too many people applied for the spring:(...
