Im confused now! I just got my acceptance letter today (July 10) and the registration/orientation for Fall 2007 LVN students is on the 30 and 31st! what is all this about friday? Also, i am going to have to miss the registration/orientation meeting due to previously arranged plans, and am writing them to let them know. they wont refuse admission, will they?? 2 weeks notice is hardly sufficient.

I guess there are different dates for LVN and RN students. Can you ask somebody to attend orientation and take notes for you? Just an idea.

2 weeks is hardly sufficient, but get used to it. You will be expected to handle last minute schedule changes.
During my first semester, we got called about 9AM that we had to go to do background check stuff at the VA that day and be there by 1 PM, or NO CLINICALS! (No clinicals = YOU FAIL!)
I'm sure they will make an exception as far as orientation goes, though. Are you sending that letter with any type of receipt?
By the way...good luck and congrats for getting accepted into the LVN program. Please keep us informed how the program is. I don't know much about ECC's LVN program.
(Sorry....this is not meant to sound as rude as I'm reading it after the fact.)
HI Orange mel,
congrats to your acceptance,
we are all RN students and don't know much about the LVN program, but one thing we do know is, like Michelle said , they love to throw last minute stuff at you. I remember them telling us in the first few days, that they own us the next two years. I don't think they were joking:lol2:. If you get to chose your clinicals at your orientation, you might want to be there. Anyways , I wish you the best of luck, and keep us posted.
Orzonus,
El Cetro doesn't require pharm. Brookhaven and El Cetro are very different in about every aspect. I cannot say which one is easier or harder to get into. It's all by grade point average. One thing I can say about Brookhaven is that they do interviews, that is what I hear. My friend got called back for an interview and did not get in.
Haven't even applied for nursing school yet. But I'm attending El Centro for the first time this Fall. All my classes at Brookhaven closed on me.
So anyone taking A+P II, pharm., or micro. this fall?
And how hard is it to get to the school? I live in Addison.
I would take the train down to school that way you do not have to worry about accidents or parking.

Hey Spoiled, I looked for you at orientation but you were not easily discernible among 49 other people.
Where are you going for clinicals?
