El Centro / NLC Fall 2019

Published

Hello,

I wanted to start a thread to see if anyone is applying for the Fall 2019 program at El Centro (hoping to get into the North Lake program). I'm getting ready to send my application and await the process. Just didn't see a thread yet and wanted to connect with my hopeful future Colleagues. I've read the Spring 2019 thread and it was exciting to see everyone come together during this process to share in this fantastic journey! I'm hoping to connect with anyone going through this experience with and hopefully also be in the program with me.

I'm able to retake it but have not taken it yet I'm also applying at grayson and tvcc. I know that with elcentro i may be waitlisted so if its meant hopefully they will call me for a spot??

How many points did you have when you got accepted if you dont mind me asking? I'm applying at North Lake for fall 19! I'm super nervous and the process hasn't even started!!

I've heard Grayson and I know TVCC are really good as well1 Good luck and keep us posted!

What classes are you all taking for the Spring 2019 semester as we apply for the Nursing program and await the response? I wish El Centro sent out the acceptance letters earlier in the month of April but I'm taking Pharmacology online at MVC online to keep myself busy and focused on Nursing in the meantime. I can already tell the online course is going to be a beast! If anyone hasn't already taken the HESI and needs to take it to apply for MVC by Feb. 22nd or for Spring 2020 at any of the schools, let me know. I have a pdf Study guide for A&P and a great Quizlet set that helped me study for it as a refresher. I would also suggest going to 1/2 price books to get the A & P book if you don't already own one so you can refer back.

Hey MEbe! We are in the same class this smester then! I’m also taking Pharmacology. I took my HESI but it wont be enough for el centro. I missed the math by 6 points and everywhere I look where I could take the test is either booked or they want too much money to take it before Jan. 31. So looks like I may have to shoot for MVC. Could you send the pdf to me? I will inbox you.

Hello, what other facilities are offering the HESI before the El Centro deadline? I made an overall 90 but I want to retake it.

Hey everyone, I'm applying to El Centro and Brookhaven Fall 2019.

I made a separate thread for Brookhaven so here are my stats for El Centro:

GPA: 4 Points

Support Coures: 4 points

HESI: 11 points (90% overall)

RNSG 1301: 3 Points

BSN courses: 10 points

So I'm applying with 32 points out of 50.

I would like to retake my HESI, if anyone knows where I can take the HESI again before the 31st of this month, please let me know asap.

469-335-3629 or email [email protected].

Thank you.

I took the Hesi over 5 times because I couldn't pass math. I finally found some helpful links with ACTUAL printable practice test with answer keys. I made a 94 on Math when I took it on the 18th.

Your points are fine! Why retake it? I got an 86.5 overall so in order to put myself over 30 points I have to retake it again. If I were you, I would keep the 90 you have. I wouldn't retake it again. Go ahead and get your application together. I also am trying to find another place that will allow me to retake it. UTA won't let me retake it now so I'm on the hunt as well.

I see UTA offers several dates before the 31st for $65. Why won’t they let you take it? I don’t feel confident with 32 points. I want to retake it, especially the AP section because I know the exact questions I missed and I had those questions before that I got wrong but they worded it different this last time. Like it’s eating me up ? but if I retake it, I may risk bombing another section. I got 98% in vocabulary which shocked me, 88% in AP and 94% in Math.

I sent the Quizlet link for the A & P review since that's what I needed to review for the HESI. I also sent the pdf and if you look in the very back it has a math section with an answer key. For most of the math you should be able to work your way backwards using the calculator to find the answer. I hope this helps for the HESI!

I'm taking Pharm at MVC since it will transfer to El Centro but not vice versa. But at MVC, they don't round up and a C starts at 75. So a 74.99 is a D and you don't get credit for the class. An A starts at 92, not 90 or 91.99. Ugh!! Definitely going for that A! Sheesh!

Hello! I am applying for the Fall 2019 program, for ya who have taken the Hesi, how hard was it ?

I wouldn't say it's easy or hard. I like to look at this question from an individual point of view. What are your weak points? Math? A&P? Reading? Whatever areas you have the most difficulty with will be the ones you need to study the most on. Brush up on the sections you are strong in.

If you are taking the HESI soon, go to this link and this can be of great assistance to you.

Hope this helps!

Hey there,

I pretty much just used an app to study (pocket prep) I really liked it. The only thing I had a problem on was A&P. Kept scoring in the 60’s. But after I took A&P II, I increased my score by over 20 points. It’s really just a standardized test. Not bad at all, just stressful. Wish you the best!
