Hi everyone!I

I wanted to make a group for all the people applying for the Spring 2020 program. Has anyone taken the HESI yet? If so, are there better tools than the book?

You have to order the top through El Centro because they embroider them with the El Centro logo. As for the pants, our group was told to get black scrub pants - ONLY Cherokee, Landau or Dickies brand unless you order the kind that can be ordered with the tops. My cohort was the last to order from Dove Uniforms, the cohort after us had to order from American Discount Uniforms so I can't speak for the sizes. As for shoes, the Dean said no mesh, all black or 90% black shoes.

I wish I’d seen this thread earlier!

Seconding the question about fingerprinting. Has anyone heard about that? Also, can someone give a rundown about what to expect at orientation?

You will get instructions about fingerprinting and drug screens at orientation. More than likely you will receive an email from the company that does the fingerprinting or from the Dean with instructions, so keep an eye on your email accounts. Some people in my group found them in junk/spam. You will also get to "pick" your schedule. It's bingo style so you don't TRULY get to pick - you just pick the section number and hope you get your first pick. Also you get info about uniforms/dress code and Q&A with the Dean

I think I’ve already don’t my finger printing thing last semester for another nursing program. I feel like they won’t make me do it again. It was also a background check.

We had students in my group that were readmitted from a previous semester at El Centro and they had to get re fingerprinted and another background. You may have to redo since the results are sent directly to El Centro. Not sure if they would accept it since it would technically be second hand but it's worth a shot to try! OR maybe since your results are from 2019 maybe they would be willing to take it. When we purchased the drug screen package, the background was included in the package and price, not sure if it can be separated. Either way hope it works out!

Hey @babysplash, how did you go about ordering your scrubs? Did you wait until orientation? I was looking to order them right now, but there’s a shipping fee included and the only option is it being shipped to my house even though the email says it’ll be distributed by the school.

Hello all, I received an acceptance letter for El Centro/Northlake Spring 2020. I’m nervous but excited. ?

I have a question for anyone that has been in the program or anyone who knows. So I know we get to “choose” our classes at orientation but it’s a section number and if you’re lucky you get “first pick”. So do we still get to choose our own professors or are we stuck wherever they put us???
