U.S.A. Texas

Hello All!! I know it is VERY early to be thinking about this but the process to get in takes quite a long time. I wanted to make a thread to help us all get through the application process together, share problems, feelings, etc. :)

HI All! I am a stay at home mom who recently decided to apply for the nursing program. I am really nervous because I only have 19 points without my HESI scores. If I get the max of 12 points for the HESI, that will leave me with 31 points. Do you guys think that's enough to get it? I'm a nervous wreck over here.

Hello miizzashley,

I just finished my last semester at the North Lake College branch. Although, I was in the last group with the old curriculum, I can still still tell you that your schedule will be HECTIC. Some people are able to work full-time and go to school but thats depending on how flexible your employer is on the days you work and at what times. I only worked part-time while going to school and it was still hard managing my time with lecture classes and clinical days. You pretty much don't know what your schedule will be until you go to orientation and you pick your clinical site and they assign you your lecture classes. I heard the new curriculum requires more classroom time so it might make your schedule even more hectic. I also know that during first semester, your skills lab is front loaded and those are usually 8 hour days, one day out of the week. Thats not including your clinical days. Hope this was somewhat helpful! Good luck!

Hi guys! My name is Didi, and I'm attempting to apply for the Fall 2015 El Centro program. I wanted to do UT-Tyler and Midwestern State University, but not sure I will meet their point system requirements. When I spoke with an adviser at El Centro this morning, she stated that I would get more points with them seeing as how I've taken all of my BSN prereq's. I was trying to tally up my points and get an idea of what I had before my visit with them Friday. Anybody know how the point system works??

If you feel you can gain all 12 points on the HESI, I think you may stand a good chance with a total points of 31. At least, from comparing the cutoff from Spring 2015 applicants which was 27 points. :)

Your points sounds good. I only have 22 before HESI, I take that next Saturday :/ If I can get atleast 6 points I may be okay. Worried about A&P though

How many semesters does the bridge prog. Have? ..thnx

I guess is 3 semesters.

hi guys, may be a dumb question, but exactly how did either of you all register for the hesi a2 exam? I was trying to do it online, but it's asking for the dept. id and I have no idea what that is..

I go to HESI A2 Admissions | El Centro College

Then click on how to use calendar. The next page will have link to click that says "click calendar link HERE" (In blue)

The seats are all full til February 28th. On the calendar you will click "9am Entrance Assessment A2 Parmount"

That will give you the payment ID you will need to use to pay for and schedule HESI. Hope that helped.

Sentry

Hello, I am applying for Fall 2015. I think I have everything together except for I have not done the registering for Sentry. Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the registration to be processed and also do we have to submit the original documentation for the vaccinations? I still have my orginal shot booklet from when I was a baby, I am assuming that they do not expect me to hand that over.

Hello All,

I am very new to this thread and applying for ADN program for 2015 Fall. I don't have social security number, as I am on H4 visa. Can someone please let me know whether I can b accepted by this program eitherat El centro or North lake college? I heard, there will be limited opportunities for clinical stuff without having SSN. However the nursing packet doesn't say that I will not be allowed.

Please share your experience. Appreciate your help and time.

Thanks, Asha
