El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

I didn’t ask. My friend told me there was 5 in his cohort. I seen there was 50 names on sign in sheet, I believe 5 are lvns , so there is 5 left for alternate, total of 40 generic students if it makes any sense.

For sure, there will be someone who is gonna choose other college over ECC, once they get accepted. good luck!

Thank you! Has anyone else heard from Compton ? my friend still hasn’t received an email.

I would think Compton probably sent out what it was going to send out by today. Did ur friend call?

I'm sure they are done I havent even gotten an email myself so I guess I got rejected.

I believe they have to send denials as well, I could understand not hearing from a teas invite but not denial. My friend will call Monday, hopefully there’s a lot of open seats after those accepted to ecc decline.

Stay hopeful I haven’t heard back either ..I did call last week and the lady said letters were still being sent out and to be patient .im sure they were waiting for orientation to take place .. let’s stay positive

I’m hoping for a more positive result from Compton since most will accept el Camino Over Compton .. I don’t think we’ll hear back from Compton on denials till after you guys accept and orientation happens .. it’s a long dreadful wait .. let us know what your friend says when she calls

Yes, it’s definitely been a long wait. It sucks we have to keep on waiting for others to decide which school to accept, but we can’t blame them. I’m actually going on Monday to turn in my alternate acceptance & I’ll ask.

Hello everyone and congrats to those who got in! To those who attented the orientation, I need help in understanding what requirements to be done on a specific time? Like she was saying about dec 15- etc. I quiet didnt get it and I was afraid to ask in class. Thank you

If I understood correctly, She said that we need to get all required immunization, CPR & etc on or after December 15 in order for it to be valid for the whole 2020 school year or else if we get it earlier than dec 15 it will expire in the middle of the semester & we need to renew again. It will cost more.

Thank you for replying @CozyCub how about the TB test and titer does it need to be on the specific time as well?

Does anyone know if the upward mobility program is the program that you cannot further your career like into BSN?

I’m sorry I don’t remember. If it is needed to be renewed yearly then yes. But for immunization that will last years then no.
