Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!
Alternate Spring 2020 Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program Generic Registered Nursing Acceptance Acknowledge Form
The El Camino Community College Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program Admissions and Retention Committee has reviewed your application, transcripts, and pre-testing requirements for admission consideration into the Spring 2020 Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program. After thorough review of your compliance with the program requirements, the committee finds that you qualify for an alternate acceptance into the program. Once all program requirement compliances have been received, your acceptance as an alternate will be readdressed based on space availability.
You must return this form to the El Camino College Nursing Department no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019. Failure to return this form by the deadline indicated will be cause for removing you from the acceptance category, and you will be required to re-apply for admissions during an open application acceptance period. No late or misdirected forms will be accepted, as the next available qualified candidate will be given priority acceptance after the above deadline date has expired

Is the Compton College process the same with ECC?

Not sure where I stand at this point at el Camino, received email from them saying not to buy uniform yet till after orientation, so I had to place it on hold. I’m lucky to have 2 more chances. Congrats to those that got 1st round .
Congrats to all of you guys. I'm still waiting to hear back, hoping that its today ???
@Sue_ema: Thanks for posting the alt letter. It is good to know/see how this stuff works. We’re all in here trying to get into a program and it helps to know how it works. It made me question whether I got an alternate. I had to go back and read it to make sure ?
@ sambelike: you should call and ask. I hope that isn’t the case, but maybe they can tell you if rejection letter will or have gone out.
@Rnhopeful: I hope so too. Crossing fingers for you??
