EC and Rn dreams on hold again

:crying2:my ec studies and rn dreams are on hold again. i just got back form the hospital and will return on friday for another cardiac stress test.

it seems the blockage in my lad and lpda have increased since last year. there is a 90% chance i will may have to have stents placed if i don't pass this stress test. my cardiologist says i need to take it easy and keep the stress levels down. easier said than done!!

he also recommended that i cut back at work too. so with this advice i am thinking that the stress that comes with the cpne is not worth risking my health over. i love being a nurse, but have been told several times over the last couple of years that the stress is getting to be too much. my doc says that nursing is stressful enough for a person with out cad and is really too much for some one with my history.

just needed to get this off my chest before and kind calm down before friday morning.

thanks all you great ec buddies for being here!!

So sorry to hear of your condition and hoping that you are able to regain your health as soon as possible. Don't worry about EC. The program and your RN license will still be there when you recover. Something for you to look forward to. I mean the license, not the CPNE. Take care.

I'm so sorry!! But you're right -- your health has to come first, or you'll be on the wrong end of the RN-patient relationship! :( *hugs*

good luck with your stress test, hobbit!

how was your last ef?

doc wanted it at least 60% and it was 65%, !!

just 2 years ago my lad was 40% blocked then last year up to 55-65%

lpda was 35-40% now up to 50%.

but there are no s/s of progression or blockage in my left main coronary that the cabg was done on, the by-pass was still open 2 years ago, so i am hoping for the same thing!:yeah:

i have a history of clots that come on and go, 6 years ago 2 clots, then 2 years later no clots, then back to clots and last year no clots. my cardiologist just shakes his head at me and say he just can't figure me out!

so i am hoping for another normal stress test.:yeah: by the way my cabg was done with my mammory artery and doc says i will always have muscle spasms due to that and from having my chest cracked open 2x in a 7 month period.

so yes, i am the strange one!:clown: my surgeon told me when i had my cabg( oct 99 then july 00) that in 10-15 years i would probably need more surgery or stents :banghead:

thanks for the good thoughts and prayers!

Hang in there, Hobbit- I hope everything turns out OK with your stress test. I can see why you need to keep your stress level down. You've been through the wringer, lady!
