Ok I admit- I did ask this before but am still curious-
How did your scores on the practice exams relate to the actual exam scores? Were they way off? I have made 70s so far on the Transititions Practice Exams and am soooo worried about failing the actual test.
So how did you guys do?? Thanks in advance!!
The first test is the hardest, but once you pass and get a feel for the exam layout it really motivates you!! I took my first exam (health safety) on Sept 4th and took my third today. I enrolled in the program in Sept and the package pricing option also. I am VERY motivated to finish all the nursing exams in one year so I don't have to pay the fee for next year!!! 3 down, 5 to go!
Meg I so agree with you! I am hoping to have it all done in a year! It's a ton cheaper if it's done in a year too.Wow! Sept 4- now....that is a lot of tests! You are really on a roll doing great!
Yeah and I would have had more done, but I tend to procrastinate for a week after I take each exam!! It takes me about 2 weeks of good studying and then I'm ready. The best thing to do is schedule the exam and have a deadline, I don't like rescheduling so it makes me work hard to be ready by that date. I'm taking reproductive health now, I have to decide when to schedule it by. I definately want it done before Thanksgiving...
i enrolled in august but kind of dinked around for my first exam. i'm finally getting ready to take my 3rd, transitions, next week, but i think if i'd really sit down and focus, i'd be able to knock these tests out in 2-3 weeks each. have you guys been on the epn? there's a little motivation there too....we can get this done if we stick to it!
What is the EPN?
Excelsior's Electronic Peer Network. Go here: https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/My_Excelsior_College/Electronic_Peer_Network/Discussion_Boards -- you will probably have to log in. Then click on "Nursing Discussion Boards," and go from there. :)
How come I never saw that area before!?! THANKS!
I honestly don't think they advertise it well. I never even knew about or visited the darn thing until I was prepping for the CPNE! LOL. When your CPNE prep time comes, I recommend hanging out on the CPNE board -- being able to "study" there with my peers was great, and I learned so much. There is some drama, but for the most part, I loved the EPN.
I totally agree! I want as much done by the holidays as possible!Any suggestions on which test to take next? I was thinking I would just go down the list maybe...
Well I took Health Safety first and Health Differences second, but you probably don't have to take that one (if you're an LPN). My next one will be reproductive health and then I don't know if I will do chronicity or the LS's. I scheduled the next one for Nov 20th so I better get cooking. Maybe I'll have 6 done before Christmas
As for the EPN, I don't really find there is tht much going on there. Maybe for the first few tests it's quiet? Or am I in the wrong area?? I usually go into the group for the test which I am taking.

I'm trying not to buy any more books. I have plenty from nursing school, including NCLEX-RN books, so I'll use those. Anything I don't have as I progress, I'll borrow from the public library.
