Easy RN to BSN ?

I'm sure we all have a story.

But for me, at this point of my life (I work Home health), I honestly don't think that the course work for the BSN will make me a better home health nurse (OASSIS documentation).

Just looking for the piece of paper that future employers might want.

Is there an EASIER RN to BSN online program out there ?

    Easier than what? I don't think I've ever heard of a hard online BSN program, but I don't have a BSN, so ...

    From what I can gather, they all involve quite a bit of jumping through hoops. I'm not sure I feel like doing it either.

    If you find a place that will let you "buy" the piece of paper after successfully counting to 100 and/or tying your shoes, please let me know.

    The proliferation of online, or mostly online, programs, in and of itself, is easier than the traditional BSN programs of the past. One had to actually get ready and get themselves to a classroom for those programs. The more stringent the attendance policy of the school, the 'harder' the program, just based on inconvenience alone.

    I have a friend at work that said it best. He said "can't we just write them a check and have them mail us the piece of paper". The BSN did not make me a better nurse. It was a silly waste of time with a bunch of group projects and presentations akin to finger-painting in preschool. However, it got me promoted and allowed me to pursue my DNP. I participated in a state-school on-line program because it was cheap & my employer would pay for it. I'd recommend doing the same.

    Wow! So much contempt for a basic education that you publicly suggest diploma mills and/or fraud to avoid the risk of learning something. It's a shock nurses are more respected members of the healthcare team.

    Just got accepted into a RN to MSN program. BSN awarded at the end.

    Hey, you have to be open to alternatives.

    ... and his wife will probably do some of the work for that MSN for him. That's what I hate about the current state of online education.

    Personally, I think every online program should have a few components/courses that require some on-campus time -- during which the person going to get the course credit has to actually show up and demonstrate in person that they have mastered the content and skills associated with the credit they are about to receive.

    (And note: I teach in an online program. So, I am not totally against it. I just don't think 100% online programs are sufficiently rigorous. I would never want someone I cared about to get their degree from a program that could be compromised easily.)
