Hello all,
Who else is applying in May for Fall 2014 admission? Let's keep each other up to date! On the new points system, if my semester finishes as planned, I will have 465/500 points. Good luck to everyone!
My point total is lower than that even, I think. I may have a couple more points than I thought if they factor in the Psychology Lab. ^ With what everyone has posted, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get in. But you never know. :) At least I already got accepted into another nursing program to start in the Fall, but I've been at Eastern since 2009. I would much rather stay with what I know & love. :)
You're so lucky to have been accepted into somewhere else! Congrats on that! :) I understand though with wanting to stay at your "home" college.

Yes, I am VERY grateful. :) The only thing is that its an ADN program that I got accepted to at my local community college, not my BSN. They are affiliated with EMU for their RN-BSN program though. Even if I do not get into EMU's program now, I still plan to get my RN, then return to EMU to get my RN-BSN, hopefully, eventually, my MSN. This track will just take me longer, but in this dog-eat-dog kinda world, I gotta do what I gotta do. :)
I'm so confused about the pysch lab, I took the class because I was told it could give you more points 4 credit hours instead of 3 for psychology. But then when I was filling out the app there was no place to insert the lab grade. I called the nursing office and the lady said oh the lab doesn't count just the class?????? This didn't make sense because I was told by a nursing advisor that the lab did improve your score and I should take it. Anyone else know anything about this. I'm curious to see what happens being that nothing was on the application for the lab portion.
What is everybody thinking will be the point cutoff this year? Just curious. I'm driving myself crazy
I want to make sure everyone knows that there isn't a "cut off" in the sense that there is a minimum you have to meet. They take the top 80 scores for the traditional program and top 32(?) for the second degree. So if someone got all 500 (I seriously doubt this), then they would be the first person admitted, and then they would take the next highest scores until they hit 80 people. It would technically be possible for 80 people with scores of 500 to be the only people admitted, but that's very unlikely. So to speak of a "cut off" is to sort of misunderstand how things go. It all depends upon how many people applied and how high their totals were. It's about getting as many points as you can and then crossing your fingers, but just because you hit a certain number, doesn't mean you're guaranteed a spot. If someone got 150 and you got 149, if they were #80 then they're in and you're not. It's top-down, not threshold-up.
