Hello all,
Who else is applying in May for Fall 2014 admission? Let's keep each other up to date! On the new points system, if my semester finishes as planned, I will have 465/500 points. Good luck to everyone!

I'll have 462/500 if all goes well with finals. Does anyone know what the points cut off from last year translates to this year?
I heard it was 150, but it all depends on the applicant pool. Try calculating your points on the old scale. Science Gpa x 25, 5 for Nurs 110, same emu points for credit hours, same 20 for teas, and 15 for healthcare work experience.

Talking to the counselors, It seems like the average applicant is between 420-440. I hope this is the case

She told me at a potential 465 that I was "very competitive", so here's hoping! They get so many applicants because people apply without knowing the correct pre-reqs and some even don't take the Teas. I'm still really nervous though.

If we went off last year's points, I would have had 163 points. This year, I have 420. We'll see. I've already been accepted elsewhere, but I've been at EMU since 2009. I would much rather stay at EMU. :)
Good luck to everyone! I plan on submitting my application tonight, if our internet ever comes back on! The crazy winds have knocked out our cable & internet!
Also, I read the point cut-off last year was 157. :)
I'm nervous and excited for you! I'm applying May 9th. I haven't taken the Teas yet, any tips? I'm trying to study for about 4 hours each day.
I think you are doing a fabulous job if you are studying 4 hours a night. :) For the Math portion, really study up on all things to do with fractions. There are lot of them on there! Basic order of operations with algebraic expressions as well. I thought the Science was easier than the Math, but there are a lot of people that think the opposite. It just depends on the person I suppose. Its basically an enhanced ACT exam, but on a computer. Its not as bad as you think. :) Good luck!
If you are studying that much, you'll have no problem! I decided to take it with out studying much at all (I just reviewed some algebra and fractions the night before). I figured if I didn't do well I could study and take it again. I passed all the sections with pretty high scores. It's really not that challenging, especially if you are a good test taker. A lot of the science stuff was straight from Organic Chem and A&P, or it was simple bio and earth science stuff.

Good luck on getting admitted into EMU's Fall 2014 admission!!!
You can go onto any online selling of books sites (can't mention names here) and purchase
any used or new TEAS book for testing...they are very cheap...and very helpful. Good luck!
