East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Fall 2021 ADN

Hello!  I am not seeing a lot of forums for East Los Angeles College (ELAC).  I would love to talk to some people who are also applying or who have attended the nursing program.  I am curious if I have a chance on getting in for Fall 2021.  If anyone is comfortable sharing their points that would be awesome.  I'll also be sharing my stats once I figure them out.  The application opens April 1st!  ?

yes I also applied PCC but the cutting off point is 85 pints

So are we applying to get in for the fall semester? Why is there a waitlist?

For fall! Elac used to be on a waitlist system but they changed it for this application cycle

I was reading that. What does that mean? They need more time or what’s the case

No I haven’t seen anything. This link is just the standard info page on the website. I can’t see anything (could be because I’m on my phone). What info are you talking about?

They’re not sending out acceptances...and they won’t explain why....this sucks.

The BRN passed a motion to pause enrollment for Fall 2021 at ELAC a few days ago, so they can focus on improving the current program.

They have been on warning status due to low NCLEX passing rates for awhile now and having to work with/give updates to the BRN at every monthly meeting, which is why there have been so many changes to the admissions process, etc.

I went to the BRN's website and looked for their meeting agenda and minutes. There is a really long Youtube video (since it's the meeting for everything) where a board member raised a motion to pause for Fall and it passed 4 votes to 3.

I had started reading the BRN meeting minutes out of curiosity in October when I was finalizing my list of programs to apply to this fall! I saw their warning status and NCLEX rates and decided not to.

I had completely forgotten about it until I saw this thread right now so looked back into it for y'all.

IDK where it starts (there's lots of discussion) but if you click on webcast 2 the motion gets passed at around 2 hour 29 minute mark.
