Hi everyone! I just want to ask if you have any idea if EAMC is accepting applicants for staff nurse position as of now? or if they are accepting volunteer nurses?.. & if so, how do they do their recruitment? do you have to submit your documents on a drop box?
I would greatly appreciate all your replies. Thank you in advance. :thankya:
Godbless!
Really? That's a bad news pipau. huhuhu have u tried calling EAMC nursing dept about this? Wah....
i just came from east ave this morning because i was supposed to be sched on the nov-dec batch of volunteers. then the woman on the NTO told us that the memorandum of DOH volunteer program was implemented. i don't know, but it was a sad news for me. volunteering in a gov't hospital where there is no payment involved is a big help for us unemployed nurses. the madam in NTO even stated that we should petition and hear out our thoughts regarding the memorandum. she also told us that they're just following orders but there are NO NEW PROGRAM after IMPLEMENTING THE MEMORANDUM. we're just hanged!

I am not against it, so why would I petition any?
If I would petition for any that would be higher budget, hire more nurses, and stop backer system.

Hi, I can't reply to your private message from some sort of reason so I might as well reply here. I'm not an employee of East Avenue MC but I was once part of their OJT nurses when they had an opening and accepted our resumes. Yes, East Avenue is one of the best hospitals I've ever set foot on. Staff nurses there are very knowledgeable and competitive, training there was hard at first but it was worth it since they let you do some nursing procedures with supervision of course but they'll let you do it on your own . We had an every day evaluation from our buddy nurse and a weekly evaluation from the head nurse and supervisor of the ward and the entire floor, I think that it is an advantage to hear their feedback every day so you can improve on certain area that they find you weak. I really do hope they call us, it's been a year already since we had our OJT there. Don't lose hope, I know at times I feel frustrated too, but I really want to hang on to my profession. It is easy to earn money, there are lots of job opportunities out there that are profitable yet non-nursing related but I love my profession and from the way I read your message we share the same passion for it. So just keep on looking for other openings whether for training or for hiring. And let's all pray and hope that all of us who has been dying to be employed shall be employed one day. :)

I agree with that too...
That memorandum to stop volunteer programs for nurses is to give way on hiring nurses instead of accepting payments for volunteer programs in the hospitals. But I think we can't stop BACKER SYSTEM....
