I am not against it, so why would I petition any? If I would petition for any that would be higher budget, hire more nurses, and stop backer system.

Msn, man,mn no differences at all
Absolutely, there are differences: 1. NAMING/BRANDING The school may have the discretion to the branding of their program but ultimately the courses may be the same with other schools. You may look how Australia named their program, it's so diverse. 2. RESEARCH PERCENTAGE A program may be comprised of: 75% coursework, 25% research or 100% coursework or 80% theories, 20% research or 50/50 etc. It depends. 3. ACCREDITATION ABROAD The problem lies to the Philippine education system. We only have 10 years (GS/HS) pre-college education while US, UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA and a lot more have 12. So there goes the problem. Primarily, we are not at par. To some schools overseas, finishing Masters here is like finishing Bachelors there. Those unis, the more prestigious ones cannot accept your Masters here when applying for PhD/DNP there. You may undergo Masters over again. BUT few may accept it, few.

During my time. They set a date, during that day... applicants pile the requirements in a box for 2 hours.

Some agencies are strict, some are not. So you have to go thru woodworks.

Yeah, they are mostly not approachable but it is not their problem if someone forgets an important date. It's not like they should spoon-feed you.

It can be disappointing everywhere. Only those with brave heart can keep on with tides. Anyway, being a volunteer at EAMC can be a plus towards employment. The head of the nurse volunteers is eager for whom she believed has great potentials to be hired BUT it can always be beaten by the "anak ng diyos". 20-40% of nurses are walk-in applicants and without backers. Some are from really reputable schools and some have undergone volunteer program for long duration. Tip: do great on your volunteer position, make friends, and create a harmonious relationship with NTO. P.S. You may not be hired at EAMC but some have used their volunteer certificates to acquire jobs in the mid-east.

By any means, do you know your backer's position? And which month did you undergo OJT?

EAMC's hiring system is well run by backer system. And someone internally can help someone chances at top even compared to president, vice-president, senator, mayor's note. When I say internally, one should expect VIP treatment from the Medical Center Chief. His and only his words are enough to equate to might. Now, I tell you this. A lot has gone OJT for 2 weeks in 2010: May, June, August, October. Roughly only 20 RNs were hired from around 200 trainees since July 2011. And I say, 70-80% of these lucky employed people have magic words from above. Last September 2010, many passed the exam and were divided into batches. There was a front-line batch composed of 8 people on the list but by charms manipulated, one was added by mere penmanship. Lucky enough... the 9 went through OJT last October 2010. The last girl was known to not have yet gotten hold of her license being a new passer (July 2010). She didn't know her PRC number. Fast-track, July 2011, the last girl was the only being from the 9 who went through panel interview and got hired. The others are on hold with future's unknown. Do not jump like a lotto winner when OJT is over. It can mean nothing, seriously. Many have been a victim.
