DWI Felony & Licensure

I am currently licensed. I have an open case for a DWI Felony. Thank God, no one was hurt and I am in recovery but there was property damage and I blew very high.

Does anyone have any direct experience or know of anyone with DWI Felony who managed to keep their license or have it reinstated at a later time?

My license is active now but I expect it will be at least suspended in the near future.

I am in New York.

I know quite a few DWI and licensure folks. None of them lost their licenses, because they all complied with monitoring contracts. I live in Fl., just one DWI doesn't earn you a 5 year monitoring contract. Now 7 DWIs might... The two I knew who only had one DWI ( we call them DUIs) got 1-2 year monitoring contracts and out. No BON contacts, just complete IPN requirements and out. Good luck!

Thanks. I wonder how to get started with a monitoring contract. I suppose through the BON? Not sure what IPN is. I'll google it.

I believe you can self report in most states. Since you already know what is headed your way, the sooner you start on the monitoring program the faster you are out. Better to self-report than wait for the letter from the BON.
