I just got the wonderful news that I was accepted into Duquense's accelerated program yesterday!!! It was my first choice so I am rather excited. I start August of 2014! Anyone been through the program that can offer any advice? Anyone else applied or recently got accepted? I would love to see who my future classmates are : )
Hey I added you as friend so that maybe it would let me send a message directly to you . if that doesn't work I can get you my email address, I just didn't want to post it on a public forum
Anyways, it will depend on whether or not you are bringing a car. Over the last month I have looked at over 25 places, so if I knew what you were looking for I can absolutely make recs. If no car, do you ride a bike? Or are Dao you like uaing public transportation? Hopefully we can find some way to do private messaging because if I knew your budget and expectations I could probably really help you out. Have a huge stack organized by location with photos, contact info, floorplans, pricing info, and even sample leases.
Let me know if the add friend thing worked.
i added you! but it didn't work, the PM? not sure why...but my email is [email protected]! Thank you so much by the way!
Hi Alw1119,
I would really appreciate if you email me the list of apartments you mentioned above. I will not be driving, I will be using public transportation or walking (preferably). My price range is $450-600.
My email is [email protected]
I have been accepted to the ABSN program and am going this weekend to look at the school and housing. I read the comments about the program, however, i compared last years curriculum to the curriculum for 2014-15 and it's been completely redone. I was also accepted to NYU and I compared the curriculums, they now basically mirror each other. NYU is twice the cost, so I am leaning toward Duquesne, since the new curriculum is better. I welcome any feedback from current students. Also, any suggestions of places to live off campus that are not typical undergrad stuff.... not looking for the frat house environment.
I would love some input..I have cousins that did undergrad at Pitt, and I understand what you say about neighborhood pride...I am going to duquesne in august absn program.. single male, 23, non smoker.NOT looking for undergrad type housing, I need quiet and clean for studying. Any location suggestions?
Hello all! I went ahead and created a Facebook group for us. I figured it was time with ALL the information we've been getting lately! It'll be for only students in the 2014-2015 Second Degree ABSN program. That way we can be open and honest and not worry about prying eyes. If you search this on Facebook, it should pop up!

Thanks!!! I've never set up a group so I have no idea where I went wrong. I'll try and fix it.
Edited: So I figured out the issue and I cannot create a group until I have more members to add besides just myself. If there is interest in getting a Facebook group going, let me know, we can friend each other, and I'll create the group. Thanks!
