  1. To everyone who has posted I urge you to read the posts from the board for 2015 class, with all of the warnings from the members of the class of 2014. I did not heed the warnings. Just to be clear I achieved a high GPA , so this has nothing to do with being angry at grading etc Although slightly annoyed that because of their grading policy I did not get a 4.0 (you need a 92 percent to get an A, no rounding-- i finished one class with a 91.88 percent, and there was no budging, my grade was entered as a B)
  2. Hey all! Any thoughts on the following? -Do we all have the same schedule? I noticed for all of my classes there were 98 (if I recall correctly) seats filled. I know originally the program was intended for 60 or 70 students; however, when I saw the class roster, via the mentor email list posted on DORI, I noticed that there were far more than 70 students listed- and actually more than 98, so either way it doesn't add up. -We were emailed a flyer for Duquesne's general orientation. Are we expected to go to that? Or just to our program-specific orientation? I have emailed to ask about that but have not gotten a response. -What is everyone planning to use for class in terms of a tablet? I like having a digital stylus so I don't think I will be using an ipad
  3. Hey i meant to send you a message but instead added you as a friend. I just wanted to know what the facebook page is. I can't find it. What did you search for to find it? Thanks
  4. Hey I added you as friend so that maybe it would let me send a message directly to you . if that doesn't work I can get you my email address, I just didn't want to post it on a public forum Anyways, it will depend on whether or not you are bringing a car. Over the last month I have looked at over 25 places, so if I knew what you were looking for I can absolutely make recs. If no car, do you ride a bike? Or are Dao you like uaing public transportation? Hopefully we can find some way to do private messaging because if I knew your budget and expectations I could probably really help you out. Have a huge stack organized by location with photos, contact info, floorplans, pricing info, and even sample leases. Let me know if the add friend thing worked.
  5. **Housing** I have been living in Pitt for a year. My fiancee and I moved here so that he could start his medical residency at UPMC. If anyone has any questions re: housing, I can answer from an unbiased prospective since I am not attached to the city in anyway, being that I am a newcomer. I have found that many people here are particularly attached to one neighborhood or another. There is a lot of neighborhood pride which has caused some segregation between different neighborhoods (an issue that the city is trying to work to improve). We got advice from several Pittsburgh lifers/long-time locals prior to moving here, which was bad planning because we now have to move to a different neighborhood.
  6. It depends on if you'll be bringing a car?
  7. Bey I ended up applying to the program really late on because I found out I would be staying in Pittsburgh. Does anyone know what the turn around time was for the decision letter? Or how many seats were filled/how many people had applied by the time you attended the on campus info session in Feb? Or what their acceptance rates were? Also, I am unclear of what the daily schedule is like. Any info on that? Weekend schedule? Thanks!
