  1. hey all! congrats to all of you who will be starting the program this fall! im looking forward to meeting you all! I just finished my prereqs for the program so im pretty excited (and nervous) to get started!
  2. That's awesome! I heard this new dean is from Drexel so hopefully things will change! And I heard duquesne has a really good masters program for practitioner! That's awesome that that's ur ultimate goal!
  3. It's so weird because I heard RMU was on academic probation as well! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us....it sounds like I've heard 50% positive 50% negative things about this program...hopefully the fear of losing accreditation is a wake up call to the faculty and it will get better as I heard this is why Robert Morris' program is under construction do to their probation . I have a bachelors in respiratory care and am very familiar with how these style of programs (especially faculty) can be an absolute pain in the butt. All warnings and experiences are definitely welcomed and appreciated on this page! However I have yet to here of one accelerated program that is absolutely on point! I've heard horror stories about Drexel, Pitt, RMU, LaSalle and now Duquesne...I guess you get out of the experience everything you possibly can because people that have been out of clinical for years and then go on to teach it, somehow end up being crappy instructors, and I definitley experienced that with my respiratory care program in undergrad
  4. Yes I agree! If like to know wat I'm signing up for LOL! Wat are you interested in?
  5. omg! a median of 52% ive heard such great things about the program, what do you think the problem is? the teaching? are you stiil in the program?
  6. Im currently a respiratory therapist at a childrens hospital...i have a BS in respiratory care and a Masters of Public health as well! so ready to start this journey soon!
  7. i believe the open house for accelerated program is february 9th..i checked on the schools website
  8. Its located in downtown pittsburgh which is a beautiful city. It sits on top of a hill so it is kind of "on top" of downtown. I was pretty impressed with the nursing program when i visited for open house. It looks as though they offer a plethora of clinical sites to choose from as well as a preceptorship. They also have plenty of clinical simualtion labs for different settings in the hospital including critical care. THe staff seemed very friendly as well. Are you deciding to go to Duquesne? i believe the deadline to respond is Dec 1st.
  9. I had a gf who was enrolled in villanovas program and she observed and told me that the people in Drexel's program all looked really stressed out during their clinicals. They take alot more credits per semester and there are alot more students ( they have both fall and winter admissions) that the staff have to deal with making the classes a little more overwhelming for everyone.
  10. i know i have to have my deposit in by December 1st..kind of sucky..I applied to Drexel as well but was kind of skeptical about their program. I currently live in Philly and havent heard to many great things about their ACE program : /
  11. I have visited. I interviewed as well as went for open house. It is a nice campus tucked on top of a hill in downtown pittsburgh. The faculty seemed nice and helpful. The clinical simulation lab seemed very nice as well. What are your other choices. I have only applied and been accepted to duquesne and Robert Morris. I chose duquesne because I like the school and faculty better, a lot of clinical sites to choose from, they offer an 8 week preceptoship, and its an 11 month program
