Dumb question on pronunciation...

Published

I have already scoured the discussion boards here for an answer but to no avail...how the heck to you pronounce the name of the nurse licensing exam (NCLEX)?!?!? Is it pronounced "en-klex" or do you say the letters individually like "N-C-L-E-X"? I'm tired of not knowing and don't want to sound like an idiot when I try to figure it out. Thanks so much!:D

Not a dumb question at all. Heck, how are you to learn w/o asking? Copy%20of%20wink.gif

Yes, like Sister said, it's EN-klex.

Good luck with your nursing program and later, NCLEX!!!!

Well said

Think about it this way: nurses will do things in the fastest acceptable way because we hate to do things slowly. Which is faster to say?

Thank you all very much for the responses!

Being a Brit and not knowing what this was I have also asked that question. In my head I call it Nelix which for any 'Trekkies'was a character in 'Voyager'!:smackingf

i have a question.

do you guys say mer-sa or spell out the letters, m-r-s-a?

i hear sooo many spell out the letters, and now, am becoming self-conscious about saying 'mersa'.
