Duke New Grad / SNIP 2013

Hi everyone. I haven't found a thread for this topic yet, so I decided to start one. Who else submitted their application on Feb 1st for the various new grad positions at Duke?

I received two emails yesterday that said my application was being forwarded to a hiring manager [GEMS]. The others I applied for are still under recruitment review.

What units were forwarded to the hiring manager?

The OR and Ortho/Bariatrics/Surgery. Have you received any other information since your last update? Was that SNPIES or GEMS? Have you had the interview yet? Wishing you lots of luck!

Thank you! I only heard that another one of my GEMS applications has been forwarded to the nurse manager. The ones that have been forwarded are critical care/ER and acute care float pool. I'm still waiting to hear about women's services. My interview is next Thursday for the PICU (SNIPES program). The closer I get the more nervous I become!

Best advice is to research the position, service and place and whatever you do just be YOU! Be as genuine and relaxed as possible so they get to see who you are!

How soon did you get a call after your SNIPES app was forwarded to hiring manager?

Thanks! I've been researching like crazy! I'm sure it will go fine, but I wish it was sooner!

I think it took them around a week to hear back from the nurse manager :/ It drove me crazy. But they emailed me. I don't know if it will be the same for GEMS. Good luck!

I have an interview with one, another went to HR, the others are on the generic 'Under Recruitment Review'.

I did. My apps say "An initial pool is under consideration. You may be given consideration at a later date", and 2 others are under pre-screening.

As for GEMS, they said they planned conducting interviews during the month of March. Since this is the last week of March, I wonder if this is the last chance to hear anything back. I had 2 apps get forwarded to hiring managers a week ago. So, not sure if I'll get a call since I haven't heard anything back yet. But hang on everyone!

I had two apps forwarded to nurse managers as well (for GEMS). I got an email asking to schedule a phone interview for the critical care GEMS program but haven't heard anything from the recruiter since I responded with my availability. Did anyone else have this experience? I have a feeling they are running behind so we should still have a chance to hear! Good luck everyone!! :woot:
