2017 Duke New Grad Program

Published

Hey! I just thought I'd make a place where people can ask questions regarding applications, interviews, and new jobs regarding Duke's Summer 2017 New grad Program. I sent my application in for Duke's New Grad Program in January, and still haven't heard anything. Has anyone heard anything different?

Good luck!

I agree. The staff seem very friendly.

We interviewed on the same day!! (: I wonder when we will hear back? *fingers crossed*

Interviewed for step-down unit last friday, waiting to hear back.

I was turned down. My past managers have a policy stating they couldn't fill out the reference survey... :(

And they didn't tell you that before you put them on the reference thing? Major bummer. Something similar happened to me when I applied for the PNA program at Duke.

HR pretty much told me that most places have that policy, but if thats the case why do they not contact professional clinical nurse references? I'm so sorry to hear that has happened to you as well. W

Thankfully I was able to learn from it this for nurse residency applications! I only used 1 manager this go-around (who I contacted before I submitted her to make sure she could fill it out) and the rest were clinical instructors familiar with the Duke process, since I go to a Duke-affiliated school and they're used to this process every semester.

I'm sorry to hear that! I hope that some other opportunities will come your way soon.

If you don't mind me asking, what date did they say you would be starting?

Hi! I just accepted a job on the new surgical step down unit! Any one else accept a job yet? Also any advice on where to live and find a roommate? Thanks :)

They've been letting people pick between July 10th, July 24th, and August 7th (I think).

Oh okay! My start date is in September. I thought that was kind of odd lol ...

Wow! That's the latest I've heard! Which unit are you going to be on?

I know eek! But that's plenty of time to move and enjoy my summer lol. I'll be on the surgical step down unit (:
