Duke MSN 2018

Published

Hello everyone! The topic is for those, who submitted their applications to Duke MSN Program Fall 2018.

I am current Duke MSN-DNP applicant for Fall 2018. I would like other Duke applicants to joint this discussion and share their strong points in their applications, and, of course, cheer up each other in this time consuming process.

One of the application requirements (prerequisites) was for basic inferential statistics (biostatistics). I had a basic statistics and college algebra for my other undergrad degree. I'm pretty sure they do not count and I need the biostatistics. I was just worried that I was the only one who hadn't taken it yet.

Do you mind talking about the MSN program a bit? What was the course work like? A lot of reading and writing, online tests, projects...?

Any tips and information would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

And they informed you of this pre-req being unmet? Just making sure I'm not missing something ! I'm pretty sure they approved my stats class but now I'm worried!

No, I guess I was just assuming I had to do it still. Maybe they counted my previous statistics course. I'll have to check with them tomorrow. Did you take basic statistics or something else?

You know -I'm getting this biostatistics mixed up with UNCC- they "recommend" a biostatistics course ( it's a grad level class)

I met the stat requirement for DUKE

I took statistics for healthcare. It was a pre req for my BSN program

Not to worry anyone...I was getting this confused with another program as well! I met the stat requirement for Duke. I'm guessing we all did as this was a pre-requisite. Another program I looked at recommended certain grad level courses and I was confusing the two. Now that I'm accepted, I can just focus on Duke and not confuse anymore programs or requirements. That's a great feeling!

Yay! I was hoping you would! Congrats!

Does anyone want to start a Facebook group for everyone who is attending Duke this fall? I have seen other years do that to keep in touch with planned meet up during the days we have to be there and such

I think that's a great idea!

I created a group on FB. Private message me your email or name to be added! Or you may be able to search for it? It's called Duke Fall 2018
