Hello everyone! The topic is for those, who submitted their applications to Duke MSN Program Fall 2018.
I am current Duke MSN-DNP applicant for Fall 2018. I would like other Duke applicants to joint this discussion and share their strong points in their applications, and, of course, cheer up each other in this time consuming process.

I just graduated w/MSN from Duke. I have my DNP application in but am taking a break. Maybe in the Fall 2018 or Spring 2019. Burned out from the MSN. My experience at Duke has been great. They are extremely supportive. Good Luck!!!!!

I submitted an application for the Fall 2018 MSN Nursing Leadership. We shall see! I was told that the next step in the process is an interview, and that the calls for an interview can be expected in spring.
Thank you for all your comments, I hope we all will get in. Hopefully, decisions about interviews will be no later that med-February.
Hi, mmc51264, did you graduate from the online MSN program? Full or part-time? If you do not mind, would you, please, highlight your MSN application and your strong sides. We all know Duke MSN is very competitive.
Congrats on your graduation!!! And good luck on your boards if you still have not taken it!
My program was part time. It's meant for working nurses. I think all the programs are.
My biggest thing about my application, it was for the Informatics program, was that I was a huge EPIC fan. It was one of those things that I had an affinity for. Also, I am very passionate about diabetes, especially type 1 as I have 2 children that are Type 1. They do a lot of research there.
Of course it helped that I am a Duke employee, very motivated, climbing the Clinical ladder, on several committees and will be a lifelong "Dukie"
I also have a Masters in Teaching that carried a 4.0 GPA (which showed I was capable of graduate level work). I was very enthusiastic, I interviewed in person (not over the phone or Skype) but I am not sure how much weight that really holds).
I think (I have said this before) if you get an interview, you are in, or at least on a very short list. Of course, the non-clinical positions are not as difficult as the NP programs.
I LOVED the experience. There is something about being part of a group that wants so badly to do well. There was no crap in the group projects-everyone wanted to do more than their share and everyone worked really well together. It was the best experience I have had.
Good Luck!!!!!!

Not yet. I think, invitations for interviews will be out in the first or second week of February.
