Duke MSN 2018

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hello everyone! The topic is for those, who submitted their applications to Duke MSN Program Fall 2018.

I am current Duke MSN-DNP applicant for Fall 2018. I would like other Duke applicants to joint this discussion and share their strong points in their applications, and, of course, cheer up each other in this time consuming process.

It went really well!! Im sure yours was the same :-)

I feel like it did! I was able to answer all the questions fully and overall it went well I think! :)

Hello everyone, I applied for the AGNP-PC Program. I had my interview today on Skype. I was a little thrown off by the fact the person interviewing was someone who had never viewed my resume or application. All of the interview questions were situational and "tell me about an experience when" which were defnitely more difficult to come up with. I feel so-so about it. I feel like I have had better interviews. I was able to come up with an example for all of them but I wish the questions were more geared towards my

experience and background. Anyways, we will see. Good luck to everyone!

Those situational questions do make it hard to brag on your accomplishments but I'm sure as long as you were able to answer them that's what they were looking for! I felt the same way about mine! I'm sure you did great :) it's hard waiting til March now that the interview is over!

Hi everyone! For those who have interviewed; did it start with a "tell me about yourself" question? If not, do any of you remember what was asked? Thanks!

any tips for the interview?? I have mine this week. Very nervous

They are all questions about "talk about a time when" so I would just start thinking about some clinical examples you have had at the bedside.

They didn't ask anything like that, unfortunately. They are all questions about "talk about a time when" so I would just start thinking about some clinical examples you have had at the bedside. I think as long as you have something to respond with that's what mainly matters.

The person who interviewed me said she hadn't ever seen my resume.

I also thought it was odd that the person who interviewed me had never looked at my resume or essays, too.

I have been stalking the website hoping to see a decision sooner than later.

Financial aid applications are due 3/1 so any date after that is fair game for admission decisions. So hopefully just another week or two til we all know! Did anyone else apply for any scholarships? Either through Duke or otherwise? I applied for the merit scholarship but I'm trying not to get too excited since they only give out 7!

I applied for the merit scholarship too, and the FELS (loan forgiveness )

I'm thinking about applying to Nurse Corps too....

Thank you Carly for reminding me about FELS!!
