I applied to Johns Hopkins, and am planning on applying to Drexel, GWU, and maybe Marymount. How about you? I'm a little nervous because it seems like MSN programs are so competitive now
Me too...I've read a lot of threads on here and it seems the majority of people DON'T get in, so I'm really scared. I'm applying to Duke, UNC Wilmington, UNC Charlotte, Old Dominion University, and USC. I currently live in the DC area so wanted to stay here or move to Charlotte so I needed online programs.
I applied to Duke's online part-time FNP program for fall 2016. I haven't applied anywhere else since most require a year's experience and I don't graduate with my BSN until May. I really don't want to have to wait to do what I know I'm going to do eventually anyway, what's the point? I've worked as an CNA for 3 years so I have a clue what the job entails. I would like some idea when we will find out something! Thanks for the info above.
smilesweet- I'm in the DC area too! Hence all the VA/MD programs. I want to stay here so it's either those or online for me.
kep308- Yeah, I think we hear back about interviews in a couple weeks. Eeeek! But yeah, I definitely understand what you mean. It's hard to wait when you know what you want to do.
Did you guys find out whether your application was complete or not? I was recently informed that it was and that it was sent to faculty for review. Which doesn't mean much but still got me excited lol...
Happy New Year!! :) Hopefully 2016 brings MSN acceptances to us all!
I judt went went back and checked my email...I also received a "Your Application is Complete" email! And realized there's a pretty solid timeline on it - interview decisions go out mid January, interviews are taking place January 19-22, and decisions are made by late February!
So we'll probably find out within the next week to two weeks if we've been selected for interviews! Eek!
Duke and Johns Hopkins are both my #1. But at this point, I'd be thankful to be accepted anywhere :)
Yeah..I'm trying not to think about the price haha.. I want to eventually teach later on, so I'm trying to get into a good school. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind where I get my MSN. It seems in the nursing profession, people only care about your license. I've never been asked where I went to school for my BSN.
How about you? Is Duke your #1?

Hi! Wondering if anyone else applied to Duke's online MSN program? I applied for the AGNP track. Thought we could go through the gruesome wait process together :)
