I kind of tried to search this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, (sorry if this is a repeat thread)
I applied to the Duke ABSN program, and I've got an interview comming up. Anyone have any advice? Anyone gone through the whole process of applying, or the program? I really love what I've seen of Duke so far - and want to go there!
I haven't been able to find any statistics either (average grades, how many apply, get interviews, get accepted).
I have not heard anything yet, but I usually like to give Melissa a week break before bothering her again. Tomorrow will likely be the day to bug her. So, being #8, I think I'm the second highest of this group we have going here. After #6 hears, I will hope that I will not be too far behind. Let's all stay positive and I hope everyone hears something soon!
Shoot! Seeing the recent posts on the main board got me excited that MAYBE someone had heard!
I'm glad that you are all getting very good help from Melissa - I really expected no less! We gave her a special award last year from our class at pinning because there really is no other like her, and we're so proud (and RELIEVED) that she's Duke Blue all the way!
We keep telling her (and I think others are too) that she should go back to school, get her necessary credentials, and become Dean of Students. Wouldn't she be phenomenal in that position?
As for the important information - the applications! Maybe they sent out a "batch" of people that they had accepted but hadn't notified yet? Perhaps with the last group of interviews it came down to splitting hairs (I've heard it always does) and they ranked the list and then sent out letters to the others? Maybe 1, 2, 3, and 4 have been notified, and they're the batch?
Heck, you'd think I was on the waitlist with you!! I'm waxing nostalgic, remembering how excited I was TWO YEARS ago (was it really THAT LONG? Guess so!).
I'm glad to see the cooperation on the board between the folks waiting to hear. If you all become classmates, that will serve you well. Keep pulling for each other and I'll keep checking back with you!
I just did my weekly check with Melissa. I have moved up two spots to #6, so everyone else SHOULD have moved up as well. I will be holding my breath until I find out more, but that sounds promising! Best of Luck as always!
Thanks nygirlatheart! I also checked with Melissa this morning and found out that I have also moved up two spots to #4. I still wasn't able to get a clear idea of when/if we would find out, but this does seem promising! I'll keep updating as new info becomes available, and GOOD LUCK to all!
Well, I haven't call back yet, but if i was # 10, and everyone seemed to move up, and the previous poster is now number 10, I guess that makes me #8. I'll call and bug Melissa later today.
She really is fabulous. Just think about how many people must be calling her for there ranking and she's just so nice and encouraging about it!
Oooh, I guess that makes me #4? I checked yesterday and was still 6, so I guess they cut it down again. Does anyone else have their number as of today? This will make for a good weekend if that is the case!
I am getting excited for all of us! I started as #6, then moved to #4, so I'm guessing I have moved to #2 or so??!! I've been checking my email all day, and no letter yet, but I will definitely post if I hear something so that you all know that you aren't far behind! Great news for the weekend- thanks Austin215!!!
More good news... When I talked to her, she said that she can't say anything for sure, but typically they do make it as far as I am on the list, so theres a good chance.
Great news- I received an email from Melissa this morning informing me that I have been pulled from the waitlist and admitted for Fall 2008! Woo-hoo!!! I'm so excited!!! Hopefully, all of you aren't too far behind! I guess this means everyone on the list has moved up at least another 2 spots! Anyone else hear anything today? Keep posting with updates!!
