I kind of tried to search this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, (sorry if this is a repeat thread)
I applied to the Duke ABSN program, and I've got an interview comming up. Anyone have any advice? Anyone gone through the whole process of applying, or the program? I really love what I've seen of Duke so far - and want to go there!
I haven't been able to find any statistics either (average grades, how many apply, get interviews, get accepted).
I am looking into applying to this program, and was wondering if any of you who are admitted to Duke's ABSN would be willing to share your stats with me via this forum or pm.
I have just started looking into these programs and I just need a little bit of encouragement to get me going!
I am still completing my undergrad work (Biology major). I currently have a 3.6 overall GPA, but I have not managed to find an average/competitive GPA on Duke's website to see if my GPA will be competitive. Therefore, I was hoping someone here could help me out. I know there are obviously other items that go into making a successful applicant, but I was just curious about the barebones GPA to start.

spygirl - what was your original number? I thought you were originally #25, but if you've moved up 11 spots that would put you at 14, not 16. I'm just asking b/c I'm trying to figure out where I am without bugging Melissa again this week! :nuke:

Spygirl, did you call Melissa to find out you had moved up to #16, or you are just tracking it on the board? Congrats on moving up the list.
I'm just trying to figure out where I am, with out calling her or emailing her again. I think if I thought there was nothing wrong with it, I'd call every day!
I seemed to have called later than everyone else too. My original # was 10, but if you've moved 11 (unless someone in between us dropped off), that would put me as in? Maybe I had moved up before I called in? oh well.
I must have added wrong - I moved probably about 9-11 spots, but I don't know my actual starting number since Melissa told me was about 25th when I got my first number.
The acceptance letter allows three weeks for a response, and I'm guessing its been about 3 weeks since we recieved our initial notification. So, I'm thinking that we will hear about decisions from that batch pretty soon. I also remember someone posting earlier about March 20/21, so hopefully you all will hear very soon!
Just wanted to let you know that Melissa is out of the office today and so we won't be hearing anything until at least Monday. Have a good Easter holiday!
great news- i received an email from melissa this morning informing me that i have been pulled from the waitlist and admitted for fall 2008! woo-hoo!!! i'm so excited!!! hopefully, all of you aren't too far behind! i guess this means everyone on the list has moved up at least another 2 spots! anyone else hear anything today? keep posting with updates!!
