Hi guys! I haven't seen a thread yet for Duke's ABSN Fall 2017 yet, so just thought I'd get it started! I'm excited to be attending the open house later in September and look forward to meeting some of you there.
Hey yal,
I attended duke days yesterday and just wanted to say it was amazing. The facility and simulation labs are top quality and they did a good job of selling their commitment and dedication to you. They also recently earned the rating of number one nursing school in America and are very proud of that as they should be.
A few things I wanted to mention were around 65 of us were there yesterday and Nora said around 30 will be at next week's duke day. Not sure how many were invited but that's how many are attending. Also she said 73 will be accepted into the program. Lastly, the faculty was talking to us as if we were definitely going to get accepted or waitlisted, though they didn't say it directly.
For those of you that weren't invited I wouldn't get too down because the price of the program will probably drive a lot of accepted students to other schools (like me most likely, if I'm accepted), which is probably why they didn't deny everyone that couldn't fit into duke days.
Oh, also they said acceptances will go out first week of April, and we will have one month from that day to accept or deny our seat.
Hope this fills some of you in, and good luck,
Dylan
I also attended Duke Days this past Friday. It really was an awesome event, they definitely went above and beyond to show off their program. I counted less than 65 for students, there were about 65 people in attendance but I noticed a lot of guests (I brought my mom). But I could be wrong, it could've been 65 students. I'm feeling very anxious for the first week of April!
Awesome! Thank you for the info, droot353! From your info, it looks like around 22 are on the waitlist and 73 admitted, if everyone who attended was invited. So nervewracking... also, awesome they're number one!
I think the number of invites for duke days would be a better representation of the chances of getting accepted but she didn't share that number. Anyways, best of luck!
