Hi guys! I haven't seen a thread yet for Duke's ABSN Fall 2017 yet, so just thought I'd get it started! I'm excited to be attending the open house later in September and look forward to meeting some of you there.
Exactly, not feeling that great, but I don't understand why they can't just be straight up with us, even by telling us there's a slim possibility. Still hoping for the best! I've only applied to Duke my #1 and MUSC. QUOTE=traysanatomy;9361996]@nurseratchedd I received the same email. She also told me my app was still being reviewed. I'm wondering if they are just saying that since no offers have gone out "officially"
Nurse Ratchedd! I feel the same way. They are being very cryptic. I received the same e-mail, so if I were you, I'd assume I did not get accepted for the time being (it will make it that much sweeter if you do). It's confusing because the first e-mail regarding Duke Days says that if you were not accepted then you would be notified at that time....but if you received the email we received, then we were not notified...we are being strung along. However, it is possible that maybe they had more applicants this year, and didn't have a lot of space for duke days (optimism). I wanted to email Nora again and ask her to clarify her clarification, but did not want to be pushy. The real question is, has anyone actually been denied yet. If not...then we have our answer!
I wouldn't be disheartened @traysanatomy. I did receive an invitation and was told the same thing. "[My] application is still under review and that there are no guarantees that any candidate will be offered admission." It's interesting that other people were told differently though...how odd.
There does seem to be some cryptic messages being sent from the different posters mentions of different emails. I received an email after declining my spot at Duke Days saying they are sorry to hear that I cannot join them for Duke Days due to my other obligations, that they plan on having it recorded to be able to watch from home, and that they hope to be welcoming me to campus in August for orientation. I would not read into any of this too far because I believe it's difficult to know which emails have been mass produced and which have been individually crafted. I believe this was an automated reply to my declining the RSVP. It's all very nerve-wracking and no matter what, it will be over before we know it. Keep on keepin on everybody, you're all worth it!
Hey everyone! I got invited to Duke Days as well, very excited I am heading there on March 31. Does anyone know when final decisions are rolled out?
I was able to work out my work/class schedule last minute and am going to make it to Duke Days on the 31st as well! I believe we are supposed to receive final decisions the first week of April. I look forward to meeting you all!
Even though I wasn't given a secure spot for Duke Days I did set up a visit through Nora for the first week in April and she insisted that no final decisions have been made and being invited to Duke Days is no guarantee. I still don't feel great that they weren't able to get all contenders in. Does anybody know if Duke Days is for all new incoming students or specifically for the School of Nursing? Thanks everybody for sharing their own experience and communications. Good luck to all!

Hey! I actually had the same problem and didn't get any information until I e-mailed Nora H.- I definitely recommend calling her Monday morning.
