Duke ABSN Fall 2015

Hi All,

Just wanted to get a thread going for those who are applying to the Fall 2015 ABSN program. What are some of your degrees in? Is anyone applying to other schools? Also, is anyone planning on moving to North Carolina to attend?

Yes, you should fill one out before hearing back about being accepted to ensure your information is processed on time by the institution. You could wait until hearing back from Duke and still submit it by the deadline in March, but your claim will likely take longer to complete compared to others that knocked it out in January/February. The FASFA needs to be filled out for each academic year. As I'm sure you have seen, you can list various schools on your FASFA application without an issue.

did all transcripts have to be official? i emailed the admissions officer the unofficial transcript of my fall grades even though I've sent out the official version.

Yes, they have to be official, even though the unofficial can serve as a place holder until the official arrives.

has anyone gotten an invite to Duke Day?

Not yet, I know the staff is working through the HEA program interviews / selection process right now.

I thought we weren't going to be hearing anything until March??

@ ncwildflowers. I was referring to Duke Day because I heard that accepted applicants receive an invitation to it.

I was told that I would most likely get an invite to Duke Days before I hear back about being accepted but it would just be a courtesy / "save the date" invite. From what I understand, the Duke Days invite email does not mean that you are accepted.

I did receive an email earlier this week about the Spring 2016 application availability. I hope that is not a bad sign Did anyone else receive this email?

Wait you mean you specifically inquired about duke day? No I didn't get an email about spring. Did you sign up for newsletters?

I was told by Admissions officer that I would hear that decisions would go out in March and Late and early Feb is when the Admissions committee makes decisions but I'm not keeping my hopes up

charming_kitty, the admissions officer told me this when I spoke with her a few months ago as I was finalizing my application. I think I did sign-up for the newsletters, hope that is the case!
