Duke ABSN Fall 2015

Hi All,

Just wanted to get a thread going for those who are applying to the Fall 2015 ABSN program. What are some of your degrees in? Is anyone applying to other schools? Also, is anyone planning on moving to North Carolina to attend?

By the way i was told we hear decisions first friday in march. anyone else told anything else?

i havent heard the first friday of march...just that it was "anticipated" that decisions would be released within the first week of march (from the email from nora).

any guesses on when this email/status will come through?! i'm really hoping we don't have to wait all the way until friday, i can't stand waiting! good luck to you all and i hope you are all keeping busy as these last few days creep by so slowly. :)

Thinking it's going to be a late Friday type of email, if not on Saturday. That's how it worked out for the spring cohort from what I was able to look up. Few more days...patience ;)

Just curious - did most of you take the lab sequences for Anatomy, Physiology, and/or Microbiology? I noticed that Duke doesn't require the labs as part of the pre-reqs, but only "recommends" taking the lab for Micro. I took all the labs bc it was required for the other programs I applied to.

I know, I know! Patience. It's been a long 3 months but even longer 2

weeks already.

And yes, I had the series with labs completed by the time applications were due (they were required for other programs as well). Hopefully that works in our favor :)

Absolutely! I haven't been this impatient since my first time in Grad school in the early 2000s. You would think that after a career in the Marine Corps, 5 deployments, and plenty of the "hurry up and wait" in between that I would be a cool customer....not happening for me right now. We have a home already picked out to buy in Chapel Hill and just need the golden ticket so I can move my wife and kid from San Diego heading east to NC. It's been a long wait, I definitely agree.
