Drug Names on NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

In school as well as out ATI review, we were taught that NCLEX would provide both the brand and generic names on the test. However, I took the test this morning and had several questions where only the generic name was provided. WHAT?? Has anyone else been confused by this?

I was always told that only one name would be provided on the nclex test. :( how did you do? Did you get the good pop up?

I took it this morning too and HURST review told us we would see both names. I did not see both on mine! It was very confusing. Still trying to hold out hope I passed

Kaplan told us that we should see both drug names! Have you tried the Pearson vue trick?

They only give the generic name on my NCLEX

I also took the nclex this morning and I received both generic/brand, then I also got just the generic name. so I guess you just don't know til you get there.

I took nclex on January 2nd and noticed this as well. In school, as well as the ATI live review, we were assured both names would be given, and this is how test questions were structured. I can understand not giving both names for some drugs (I.e. being provided either Coumadin or warfarin). However, the generic-only questions I got were extremely obscure drugs I had never heard of before, and of course you can't figure it out with a portion of the word (I.e. "olol"in metoprolol so you know it's a beta blocker). I passed with 75 questions though so I assume I guessed well :-\

I took it Wednesday and was surprised that I didn't see both generic and trade since I was also under the impression that both would be given.
