Drexel ACE Program (Fall 2021)

Published

Hey, guys its a bit early but wanted to open a chat so we could all talk about the Fall 2021 ACE program (11 months) at Drexel University! Feel free to share stats, questions, concerns, and more!

Hey everyone. So there is a possibility that I have to retake Microbiology or take an additional Biology lab to fulfill the 4-credit Microbiology w/ Lab. The Microbiology w/ Lab I took was 3-credits. I do want to take the course at a community college, but I came across Portage Learning, which is more affordable than cc. I would like to know if anyone took courses at Portage Learning. If so, how was your experience and did Drexel accept courses taken here?

I've heard good things about Portage, but you should email the admissions office about it before signing up because I asked them about it for Fall semester and they said they were in the middle of a review to see if they'd continue to accept credits from portage or not!

Thank you! I really hope they take credit from there ?

What happens after you submit your deposit? Are things do right away? When do we have to submit health information like vaccines, drug test, and etc?

I'm not sure thats why I wanted to ask! I didn't see a list of things to do when I submitted my deposit but if anyone heard anything or next steps to take, please share on here!!

I know you're looking at more affordable options for microbio, but I thought I'd just throw this out there. I just took micro through UCSD Extension online. It's all online and they send all the lab materials to do at home. It IS on the pricey side and I was definitely not excited about that, BUT it was totallyyy worth it and more than doable. I was able to get an A even though I was initially wary of how I'd do. Drexel also accepted it. Just an option! Good luck!

I’ll keep that in mind! I’m waiting for them to get back to me first before I enroll into any classes. But thank you so much for sharing! ?❤️

Hey everyone! Thought I would inform you guys! I contacted someone from admissions and this is what they said about Portage Learning: Courses taken at Portage Learning can be considered for transfer credit.

Hope this helps!

Everyone that has decided to go to Drexel or is in between schools, have they thought about the HESI exit test that is required at the end of the program? I saw on other pages that Drexel requires the HESI and students have to get a certain score to graduate and take the NCLEX... I believe the score was 870 or 950? I would really like to hear anyone else's opinion about this and if it changes their mind in going to Drexel or not.

I definitely thought about this! Im not sure if it is still a thing or not but this was a huge factor for me as well in deciding between schools to go to. I think I may end up going to Jefferson because it is a tiny bit cheaper, has better simulation labs, and they guarantee admission into their MSN program if you graduate with a certain GPA.

I totally agree! The only reason I’m considering Drexel because they are so well known. I’m considering Jefferson too but we’ll see if I get accepted

I got accepted to Drexel ACE program .
But  have the following concerns:

-Where are the clinical sites  where I will practice as a student nurse?
- Does I need a car to my clinical sites?

Any information greatly appreciated

Has any received "Close to Aggregate Federal Student Loan Limit Documentation" on their financial aid tab?

This will be my second bachelor's and I'm honestly freaking out about how much loans I'm going to get to pay for tuition while in school. Anyone in the same boat???
