Drexel ACE Nursing Program Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey, guys! I looked for a thread for Spring 2021 ACE admission at University but couldn't find one, so I figured I'd start one here. The priority deadline is approaching quickly so I thought this could be a good place for everyone to keep up to date on what the school needs and when people are hearing back (especially with things being so up in the air in our world right now). Has anyone else completed their application already?

I just got my acceptance!! SO excited!

Thank you! Have you gotten your financial aid package yet? Also when did they email you the prerequisites that they accepted?

The only financial aid offered to me were loans, which I'm not really interested in. I didn't hear anything about the pre-reqs either but I DID withdraw my Spring application a few days ago in the hopes of joining the Fall cohort instead, so that is probably tripping things up a little bit.

Yess, I was going to reach out to a counselor about switching to fall too. Do you know the process for that?

I do! It's very stressful! I reached out to my contact (Ashley) and essentially you have to state you want your Spring application withdrawn and put in a new Fall application. Luckily all documents move over so it's just a waiting game. If Fall fills up/you don't get accepted for whatever reason, you can apparently have your Spring application reactivated and if there are still spots in that cohort, your acceptance will stand.

It's a gamble! But they usually accept for Spring well into the next year so....I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My last pre-req (assuming they accept the rest) will be done in 4 weeks so it just makes more sense to start for Fall!

Oh WOW! that is hectic. I’m considering doing that but I’m scared classes will be online and if they are I’d rather just wait till Spring. Do you know what the total cost is? Hopefully it works out and you can switch!

It is!! I'm just hoping I hear back soon. I'm pretty sure everything's going to be online for the Fall semester for most schools. Which sucks, but clinicals don't start in this program until Q2 anyway so that's fine, I guess. I think the total program is about $54,000? Somewhere around there. Thank you!! If you ARE going to try to switch I would suggest talking to someone before Fall completely fills up. Otherwise, if you're wanting to wait out the virus, Spring is good too!

I agree - definitely double check what they'll take! But I took my nutrition through Portage and it wasn't an issue. I'm thinking maybe it's just the sciences that they won't take online?

hi I'm taking nutrition in a few days how was it through portage? was it hard? are the tests easy/ is their multiple choice? can I use quizlet? sorry I'm nervous I need to do well

It was super easy! The case studies, to me, were more challenging than the tests but all the information is there and easily accessible. I don't remember exactly how the tests are formatted but I want to say a combination of multiple choice and fill in the blank? Unsure about quizlet as I never used it. Just do the reading and you'll do great! Only took me a few weeks to get through and finish.
